Her vehicle was across the east lane of Lippincott while making the turn when the eastbound motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Terrain. Parks, reported Velasco applied his brakes on the motorcycle.

The roadway was closed for approximately two hours for investigative purposes. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Lapeer Township Police, Michigan State Police and Lapeer County EMS.
The fatal traffic crash remains under investigation. Parks will conduct a speed analysis to determine if excessive speed (posted 55 mph) was a factor. Toxicology results remain pending as well to determine if they played a role as well in the crash. Parks said it usually takes a month for the toxicology results to be completed. Upon completion, the report turned over to the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if any criminal charges are warranted.
