Oxford High School’s FIRST robotics competition team, Team 2137 The Oxford RoboCats, returned to hosting their annual Week Zero event the weekend of Feb 18 and 19, at Oxford High School. Teams from across the state were provided robot assistance and could try out their robots on the The RoboCats’ practice field. Sponsors and members of the community came to check out what the robotics teams do.A total of 10 teams came to the Oxford event, including FRC teams 5166 The Fabricators, 7211 Hollywood, 7166 Red Thunder Robotics, 3538 RoboJackets, 5053 Lakers, 5084 Team FridgeBot, 5114 Titanium Tigers, and FTC team 15486 Mecha Mavs. The teams were able to check out the setup and test their robots on the practice field to see how their robots performed when actually on a full replica of their competition field. Team 2137 also provided assistance for any of the teams that needed it for their robots. Members of the community, including current team sponsors and potential ones, were able to see what the robotics teams did. They were all given tours of the mechatronics room in the high school by members of the team, while also being able to watch the teams try out their robots on the practice field.The Oxford RoboCats thanks everyone for coming out and getting Charged Up at their Week Zero event, and hope to see everyone there again next year.
