OXFORD — The Oxford Village Council voted unanimously on Feb. 11 to award its asbestos removal project to Qualified Abatement for an amount not to exceed $7,980.
The project is described as “asbestos abatement of friable and non-friable (asbestos-containing-material) in the former Oxford Township portion of” the building located at 18 and 20 W. Burdick St, according to village documents.
The documents also list Qualified Abatement’s bid as the lowest of three amounts. The other bids came from Certified Abatement, $8,480, and BDS Environmental, $12,000.
Village Manager Joe Madore said he contacted the county to tentatively set up a pre-construction meeting for the project.
