It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Carl Olson announces his passing due to complications from lung disease on Monday Jan. 14, 2019. He was 76.
Born on Aug. 9, 1942 Pete grew up in Clawson. After serving his country as a maintenance technician for the missile program in the U.S. Army, Pete met the love of his life, Fran. They married on April 3, 1965. A career master mechanic, Pete took a job in Oxford in 1966 for a small trucking company, Acton Trucking. After a short time commuting from Royal Oak, Pete and Fran moved to Oxford permanently. He helped grow the company to a 30 truck fleet over a 34 career. After his career Pete loved spending time with his family, watching NASCAR and visiting his friends in the area.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Fran; daughter Carlee (Jesse); son Pete; grandchildren Anderson, Allison , Ben, Joseph, Max and Faith; his sister Lale; and brothers Paul (Bev) and Ed (Peggy). Pete will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 18 at the Dryer Funeral Home in Holly. Rev. Sharlyn Gates officiated.
Military honors and burial were at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
