Arrest for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, Dixie Highway and White Lake Road. Arrest made after traffic stop (53 miles per hour), and suspect repeatedly gave false identification.
Threats complaint on Rattalee Lake Road.

Arrest for operating while intoxicated (zero tolerance), Dixie Highway and White Lake Road. Preliminary breath test showed blood alcohol content of 0.03 percent for 20-year-old driver.
Report of identity theft on Westview. Subject said Consumers Energy showed outstanding account from address in Jenison, Mich.
Threats complaint on Parview. Wife said husband threatened her life.
Family trouble on Bluegrass Drive. Mother allegedly threw flower pot at 20-year-old son for attempting to take vehicle to the gym.

December 21:
Subject arrested for domestic assault on Algonquin Boulevard. Mother said 17-year-old stepson pushed and struck her when she forbade him to enter parents? bedroom.
Malicious destruction of Christmas decorations on Adderstone. Someone broke mechanical deer head.
Assisted fire department with aspirin overdose (three handfuls) on Tuson Boulevard.
Assault and battery arrest at Farmer Jacks on Dixie Highway. Incident took place during child exchange after argument began between father and mother. Citation issued and case turned over to Family Independence Agency.
December 22:
Report of larceny of silverware and linens from Hawksmore.
Forged check report at TCF Bank on Dixie Highway. Incident came as a result of dispute between husband and wife concerning her mother’s estate; unknown party forged check.
Domestic assault on Shore Court. Woman said 20-year-old nephew pushed her during argument about his being drunk.
Arrest for operating while intoxicated and outstanding warrants on Sashabaw near Waldon. A 27-year-old Holly man registered 0.215 percent blood alcohol level.

December 24:
Threats complaint on Mann Road.
Malicious destruction to vehicle on Meyers Road. Man said ex-husband of his current live-in girlfriend keyed his car.
Harassing telephone calls on Sashabaw Road. Complainant said wife’s brother called and threatened assault.
Family trouble on Upland. A 39-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants from Detroit for domestic assault.
December 26:
Family trouble on Tuson, argument concerning husband wanting to leave the apartment.
Marijuana and felony warrant arrest on Sashabaw Road. Homeowner called police to report presence of 19-year-old Orion Township man wanted on warrants for possession of marijuana, probation violation and traffic. Suspect allegedly tried to kick a bag of suspected marijuana into hiding while being arrested.
December 27:
Arrest for domestic assault on N. Marshbank. A 20-year-old woman was arrested for striking a 27-year-old man when he said he was leaving her.
Unauthorized use of family pass at Pine Knob Ski Lodge.
December 28:
Family trouble on Glenalda, dispute concerning people who are staying at the residence.
Suspicious circumstances on Forest Ridge Drive. Resident found footprints at rear of home.
Suspicious circumstances at Mr. B’s Roadhouse on Dixie Highway. Suspected fight, but no arrests.
December 29:
Arrest for recreational trespassing on Deerhill near Dixie Highway. Subject was seen driving offoroad in wooded area. Passenger was arrested on outstanding warrant.
Springfield Township
December 18:
Service call to Sherwood, gaining entrance to retrieve personal items for person in hospital.
December 19:
Threatening telephone calls on Andersonville Road. Woman received death threat from former boyfriend.
Suspicious person on Englewood Drive. Resident said someone ran off the deck toward golf course behind home.
December 21:
Malicious destruction to window/storm door (possibly by pellet gun) on Broadway.
Service call to put down injured deer on Davisburg Road.
December 22:
Subject arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and violation of host ordinance on Bluewater. Deputies responded to report of fight, heard loud music and discovered open alcohol at party with several persons under age 21.
December 23:
Malicious destruction to van window on Broadway.

Independence Township

Sun., June 17 A 49-year-old Waterford man was arrested and jailed after he was pulled over on a traffic violation near Maybee Road and Sashabaw Road and found to have outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants out of 50th and 51st District Court.
Mon., June 18 Deputies sent a report to Children’s Protective Services after a neighbor discovered two children of a single mother walking around an apartment complex parking lot unattended, and in soiled diapers. The children, both boys, were age 2 and 3.
A 29-year-old Pontiac man was arrested and jailed on a felony warrant and possession of narcotics after he was picked up by deputies responding to a call from the man’s employer.
A 19-year-old Holly man walked into the Independence Township substation to file an assault report after he was punched by an unknown man in the DTE parking lot after warning the individual he could get in trouble for urinating in the parking lot.
An Independence Township couple living in the 7000 block of Scenic Ridge reported $193 missing from a car parked inside their garage after an unknown male solicited tree removal service.
A 24-year-old Southfield woman reported her laptop computer was stolen out of her unlocked car at a restaurant on Dixie Highway.
Wed., June 20 A 45-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 5800 block of South Marshbank reported her vehicle stolen out of the driveway at her home while she was in the hospital.
A 19-year-old Ortonville man walked into the Independence Township substation to report that he’d been assaulted during a concert at DTE.
Deputies were dispatched to a restaurant near for a call of a woman who’d been assaulted. It was determined the woman had not been attacked, but hurt herself falling down after she became intoxicated at a concert.
Deputies took an informational report at DTE after a fight broke out when one individual toppled onto the blanket of another at a DTE concert.
A 23-year-old man was issued a disorderly person citation after engaging in a fight at DTE.
A 17-year-old Milford youth was issued a citation of minor in possession after he was discovered with intoxicants at a DTE concert.
A 19-year-old Imlay City man was issued citations for consumption of alcohol, possession of false identification and refusal of a PBT while attending a concert at DTE.
A 19-year-old East Tawas woman was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol while she attended a concert at DTE.
A 21-year-old Milford man was issued a citation for loitering after a a deputy dispatched to check on the intoxicated man found the individual walking down Sashabaw Road interfering with traffic. The man told police he was walking home after a concert at DTE.
A 61-year-old Allen Park man was issued a citation for ticket scalping during a concert at DTE.
Thurs., June 21 Deputies were dispatched to check on suspicious circumstances after an Independence Township firefighter reported the front passenger window had blown out of the Independence fire command vehicle while it was traveling east on Clarkston Road. An investigation did not reveal any cause for the incident, but no foul play was suspected.
A 23-year-old intoxicated, unlicensed driver was arrested and jailed after he crashed the vehicle he was operating into an apartment building in the 5800 block of Deepwood Court.
A 56-year-old Independence Township man living in the 7600 block of Clintonville Road called police after returning home to discover someone had stolen a trailer valued at around $4,600 from his driveway while he was away.
An Independence Township woman living in the 7400 block of Deer Forest Court called police after she discovered someone had stolen the rubber center mat from the trampoline in her yard. She estimated it would cost about $500 or more to replace the trampoline.
A 40-year-old Independence Township man called police after finding someone had entered his garage overnight and stole $35 from his wife’s purse, which was on the front seat of a vehicle parked inside the garage. A case of beer was also missing from a shelf in the garage.
A 43-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 5900 block of Forest Grove called police after discovering someone had entered three unlocked cars parked at her residence over night and stole golf clubs, an iPod, sports equipment, and money from the vehicles.
Fri., June 22 Deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Tuscon when a man heard smashing and looked outside to see three males speeding off in a truck after breaking out the window in a neighbor’s vehicle.
The mother of an 8-year-old Independence Township boy reported someone entered her son’s locker at a summer camp and stole a Nintendo game player and two games valued at about $170.
A 19-year-old Independence Township woman living in Bridgewater Apartments reported someone entered her apartment during the day and stole her laptop computer. No signs of forced entry were visible.
A 19-year-old Orion man was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic assault and an 18 year-old female was arrested on violation of court order after the two, who were under court order to have no contact with one another, became involved in a physical altercation while driving to a concert at DTE.
Sat., June 23 a 31-year-old Independence Township woman was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges after admitting to police she punched her husband in the chest several times after an argument over his alleged affair became heated.
A 17-year-old Waterford female called police after the rear window in her vehicle was smashed at an Independence Township restaurant. Her purse, containing a digital camera, was stolen from the car.
A 19-year-old Independence Township man was issued a citation for possession of marijuana after deputies discovered the drug and paraphernalia in his vehicle.
An Independence Township man living in the 5500 block of Clarkston Road called police after discovering someone had broken into his barn during the night and stole 3 bikes.
An Independence Township woman reported she’d been the victim of identity theft after receiving notice that someone fraudulently ordered five additional lines on her cellular account and changed her billing address to Detroit.
An Independence Township man living in the 6100 block of Fox Fire Circle reported someone knocked over his mailbox and post during the night.
Independence Township deputies were dispatched to assist the Independence Township fire department when a family living in the 100 block of Clarkson Road in the city of the Village of Clarkston noticed chicken cooking on the stove around 12:30 a.m. caught fire.
Sun., June 24 Deputies were dispatched for family trouble when a 35-year-old Independence Township man became angry after learning his mother did not buy any yogurt that day.
An Independence Township resident turned in a black canvas bag containing a .177 pellet gun found on a baseball field near Maybee Road and Mary Sue.
Deputies were dispatched to check on a report of assault and battery after a 16-year-old Independence Township youth shot another youth in the arm with a CO2-powered Air Soft gun. A juvenile petition was prepared and sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
Deputies were dispatched to the 5300 block of Drayton for family trouble after an argument between an Independence Township couple became heated.

Springfield Township

Wed., June 5 A 52-year-old Springfield Township woman called police after she looked up from a task inside her home to see a male, about 20 years old, looking in her window from the sidewalk.
Mon., June 11 Deputies were dispatched to the 8500 block of Tindal Road when a 29-year-old Springfield Township man called to report a construction trailer containing $12,000-$15,000 in tools and supplies for his landscaping trailer was stolen from the driveway at his home.
A 48-year-old Springfield Township woman called police after she received notice from her credit card company that her account was overdrawn by nearly $700. The unauthorized charges were made at a gas station in New York.
Tues., June 12 A 34-year-old man living in the 13000 block of Neal called police after he returned home to discover the front door to his home forced open, and a jewelry box stolen.
Wed., June 13 A homeowner in the 8400 block of Peaceful Valley called police when she discovered someone had backed a vehicle into the neighborhood mailbox station overnight. Glass from the vehicle was embedded in the siding and a pile of glass was found on the ground nearby.
Fri., June 15 a 52-year-old Spring field Township woman called police when she discovered $6,000 missing from a drawer in her living room furniture. The woman claims a friend saw her take a $20 bill from the draw a few days previously, and believed the friend may have taken the money.
Sun., June 17 A 38-year-old Springfield Township man living in the 10700 block of Andersonville Road called police after a mountain bike valued at over $500 was stolen from his front porch, where it was locked with a chain.
Mon., June 18 A 45-year-old Springfield Township woman living in the 11000 block of Scott Road was issued a citation for an ordnance violation after a neighbor complained about barking dogs, which the complain said was a chronic problem.
Tues., June 19 A 72-year-old Springfield Township man living in the 9800 block of Rattalee Lake Road called police after he arrived home from an errand to discover someone had kicked in the door from the garage to the home. The alarm sounded and may have scared off the intruder. Nothing was missing from the home.

Independence Township
Sat., June 9 A 21-year-old Independence Township man living in the 5000 block of Fox Creek was arrested and jailed after an argument with his 20-year-old girlfriend became physical.
A 19-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 4900 block of Cecelia Ann reported her purse stolen from her unlocked vehicle overnight. The bag was found nearby, but cash and a debit card were missing.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Maybee Road and Clintonville Road to assist an Independence Township woman who was following a 14-year-old incorrigible granddaughter down the road on foot.
Sun., June 10 An Independence Township man living in the 6400 block of South Hampton reported a digital camera, along with an iPod and transmitter, stolen from his vehicle.
A 21-year-old woman living in the 4500 block of Oakvista called police after hearing someone tampering with her front door. The woman told deputies she also heard two unrecognizable male voices coming from the front porch. Police found a screen removed, but nothing else seemed out of place.
Mon., June 12 An employee at a church on Clarkston Road called police after discovering someone had broken a window in the building during the night. Police said it appeared a stick or other long object was used to break the window.
Deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of Crabapple to assist with a medical call after the mother of an 8-year-old boy hit a mailbox while riding his bicycle without a helmet. The boy, who had a bleeding cut under his right eye, and another bleeding wound on the back of his head, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital by Independence Township EMS.
Tues., June 12 A 43-year-old woman was arrested and jailed after a motorist called police claiming the woman was driving west in the eastbound lane of Waldon Road. Police discovered the woman sitting in her car highly intoxicated, with two tires on her BMW shredded to the rim.
A Waterford man was arrested and jailed on a Friend of the Court warrant after he was pulled over for driving with an expired tab on his vehicle.
Wed., June 13 The manager of Pine Knob Ski Resort called police after discovering two teen males vandalizing pole-mounted lights that run along the facility’s ski hills. One of the teens was recognized as an employee who worked at the resort during winter.
A 40-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed after an argument with his 41-year-old girlfriend became physical. The man was reportedly intoxicated.
A homeowner in the 8500 block of Sashabaw Road called police stating he’d been doing some work on the home the previous day, and returned to discover someone had dismantled the central air conditioning unit and made off with the condenser.
Thurs., June 14 A 54-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 4500 block of Oakhurst called police after discovering someone broke out a window in her vehicle and stole an iPod and wallet.
A 40-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 4600 block of Waterbury called police after discovering someone broke out a window in her vehicle and stole sunglasses, a purse and assorted make-up items valued at $150.
A 47-year-old Independence Township man living in the 4700 block of Oakhurst called police after someone entered his garage and stole his 19-year-old son’s car after keys were left in the vehicle and the garage door was left open over night. Also missing from the garage were a racing bike, mountain bike, racing helmet, three sets of golf clubs, a computer, a weed wacker, and a wallet.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and jailed after deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of S. River for unknown trouble and found the man had a misdemeanor warrant out of 52-2 District Court. The man was also issued a citation for disorderly conduct after he became unruly with police.
Springfield Township
Wed., May 30 A 47-year-old woman living in the 9700 block of Kingston called police to report that a man drove up and pulled a flowering shrub out of the ground and threw it in his vehicle. The woman, who was trimming bushes near the subdivision entrance at the time, estimated the bush was worth about $50.
Fri., June 1 An employee at a business on Dixie Highway called police to report a former boyfriend continually showing up and and causing a scene while she was working.
A Davisburg man called police after someone poured red paint on his vehicle overnight.
A 26-year-old Davisburg woman was arrested and jailed after she was pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered to have misdemeanor warrants out of Auburn Hills.
Sun., June 3 A 36-year-old man building a home in the 8000 block of Forester called police after an unknown male stopped to inquire about the home and its features, then made unwanted sexual advances.
A 40-year-old Westland man was arrested and jailed after deputies, who discovered the man asleep in his vehicle at the Dixie I-75 Park and Ride, ran A LEIN check and discovered the man had misdemeanor warrants out of Westland.
Wed., June 6 An employee at a Springfield Township business reported someone broke into company buildings during the night and stole two cars belonging to the owner’a Lincoln and a Corvette’and also broke into vending machines and made off with money and snacks.
A homeowner living in the 4800 block of Maggie’s Way called police after she returned home to find someone had cut screens on her home in an apparent attempt to enter the residence. Nothing appeared out of place in the home.
A 41-year-old Waterford woman was arrested and jailed on a Friend of the Court warrant after she was pulled over on a traffic violation.
Fri., June 8 A 48-year-old Davisburg man filed a police report claiming he’d been receiving credit card bills with charges in the amount of $794.72 from a New York company. The card had been previously closed, the man said.
Sat., June 9 A Davisburg woman called police when a neighbor began firing a rifle in violation of local ordinances, which state shooting is not allowed within 400 feet of occupied homes. The man was issued a warning.
Sun., June 10 A homeowner in the 10000 block of Big Lake Road called police after she noticed a suspicious-looking man in the driveway of a vacationing neighbor, and believed he may have been inside a camper parked near the home.
A 25-year-old man called police alleging he’d been dropped off in Springfield Township after becoming the victim of a car jacking in Troy. The man told deputies an unknown male brandished a gun and forced him into the backseat near Big Beaver and I-75, then drove for an hour and a half before he was involved in a crash and told the man to get out of the car. Later the man admitted the report was bogus, and that he had fled the scene of an earlier accident near M-15 and I-75.

Fri., June 1 A 44-year-old Waterford man was arrested and jailed on charges of home invasion and assault and battery after he entered the Independence Township home of a former employer demanding money and lunged at the man, knocking them both down a set of basement stairs where a scuffle ensued.
An Independence Township woman living in the 5600 block of Parview called police after discovering someone entered her vehicle during the night and made off with a cell phone and a collection of music CDs.
A 20-year-old man living in the 6900 block of Tuson Blvd. reported someone stole the radio from the dashboard of his vehicle during the night.
A 70-year-old woman living in the 5000 block of Fox Creek South reported someone stole the hubcaps off her vehicle during the night.
Mon., June 4 A 50 year-old female living in the Landcaster Lakes apartments reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle during the night and stole music CDs and a pair of tennis shoes.
A 30-year-old man living in Landcaster Lakes Apartments reported someone cut the plastic window on his Jeep over night and stole an iPod and cable from the vehicle.

An Independence Township employee reported that a metal discovered golf basket valued at about $350 was stolen from Bay Court Park during the night while the park was closed.
Tues., June 5 A 69-year-old Independence Township woman reported someone fraudulently used her identity to obtain a cellular phone account in Florida and she was now receiving bills for $536.56.
Deputies were dispatched to a restaurant on Dixie Highway when an Independence Township woman claimed she was struck in the face by the 18-year-old boyfriend of her daughter after engaging in an argument with the man.
A 26-year-old Lake Orion woman called police after returning to her vehicle after a ten minute trip inside a gym on Sashabaw Road to discover someone had smashed a window out of her car and stolen a bag valued at around $400.
A 41-year-old Detroit man was arrested and jailed after he was pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered in possession of marijuana and illegally obtained prescription drugs. The man was also driving on a suspended license and had a valid Friend of the Court warrant.
A 21-year-old Ortonville woman working at a restaurant on Sashabaw Road near 1-75 reported someone had smashed a window in her vehicle while she was working and made off with an expensive wallet and all her credit cards and other identification.
A 21-year-old Independence Township man was cited for larceny of gas after he pumped $34.53 from a gas station at Dixie Highway and Maybee Road and drove off without paying. Deputies spotted a car matching the description reported by the station attendant and the man confessed to the action. He was also cited for driving on a suspended license.
A 35-year-old Waterford man was arrested and turned over to the Waterford Police Department after he was pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered to have a valid warrant for possession of cocaine.
Wed., June 6 A 28-year-old woman living in Bridgewater Apartments called police after someone sprayed red paint on the hood of her truck during the night.
A 51-year-old woman living in the 4700 block of Independence Drive called police after someone sprayed red paint on her company vehicle overnight.
A 40-year-old woman living in the 4700 block of Avalon called police after someone sprayed red, black and yellow and black paint on her garage door over night.
A 57-year-old woman living in Bridgewater Apartments called police after someone sprayed red paint on the hood of her vehicle during the night.
Thurs., June 7 A 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man living in Independence Township were turned over to immigration officials when the car they were driving in was pulled over on a traffic violation near M-15 and Dixie Highway.
Police were dispatched to the 4500 block of Hillview Shores when a resident discovered a laptop computer sitting in the grass near his home. The man told police he has seen teens walking through the subdivision dressed in dark hoods at night and requested extra patrols. The computer was returned to its owner.
A 50-year-old man living in the 4500 block of Hillview Shores called police after discovering someone had stolen his wallet and credit cards from his unlocked vehicle overnight.
A couple living in the 5900 block of Bay Pointe Blvd. reported someone entered their locked garage during the night and made off with two sets of golf clubs valued at around $3,000.
The manager of a development company reported the larceny of company signs valued at around $1,500 from a property near White Lake Road and village Park at Stone Wood Place.
An employee at a grocery store on Sashabaw Road called police after three juveniles were seen acting suspicious in the store. Police discovered the teens in possession of several bottles of cough medicine and snack food.
Fri., June 8 A 50-year-old woman living in the 5000 block of Greenview called police after returning home to find a portion of the garage door bent into the garage. Nothing appeared out of place in the home.
Deputies were dispatched to a grocery store on Sashabaw Road near Maybee Road when an employee spotted two 14-year-old boys stealing condoms and candy from the store. The boys were referred to Clarkston Area Youth Assistance.
Sun., June 3 Deputies were dispatched to Clarkston Specialty on Clintonville Road near Maybee Road to take an assault and battery report after a 2-year-old nurse became angry and aggressive when she was allegedly not allowed to go home because she wasn’t feeling well. The nurse threw a coffee mug, and hit a fellow employee in the arm with a broom.
Deputies were dispatched to Landcaster Lakes Apartments after neighbors reported the front door of an elderly woman had been forced open and left ajar for several hours. Apparently someone entered the unit and stole a television.

Fri., May 25 An employee at an office supply store made a police report stating she believes her credit union debit card was stolen and used to make fraudulent purchases by a fellow employee. The Independence Township Detective Bureau was investigating.
The parents of a 13-year-old Independence Township girl filed a police report after discovering their daughter was being approached by older men engaging in explicit conversation through her myspace account.
Sat., May 26 A 41-year-old woman living in the 7800 block of High Ridge Drive called police after discovering someone entered her unlocked vehicle over night and stole about $525 in cash and electronic equipment.
A 49-year-old man living in the 8000 block of Fawn Valley reported someone smashed a window out of his rented vehicle overnight and stole a work computer.
A 45-year-old man living in the 7300 block of Oakstone Drive reported someone entered his garage overnight and stole two cell phones, a wallet and other items from his vehicles.
A 29-year-old man living in the 6300 block of Wellesley Terrace reported someone stole a satellite radio from his unlocked vehicle overnight.
A 44-year-old man living in the 9100 block of Evee reported someone entered his truck during the night and stole miscellaneous items.
Sun., May 27 A 17-year-old Independence Township man was issued a disorderly person citation after someone called police to report the man asleep on a front lawn.
A 52-year-old Independence Township woman called police after coming out of a video store on Sashabaw Road and Maybee Road to discover someone had broken out the window of her car and stole her purse off the front seat. The woman said she was in the store about 10 minutes.
A 15-year-old Detroit female reported an unknown man shoved her during a concert at DTE and ran off with her purse.
Three underage Northville youths were issued misdemeanor citations after they were discovered in possession of alcoholic beverages during a concert at DTE.
A 47-year-old woman living in the 8300 block of Brookstone Lane called police after discovering someone had entered vehicles parked in her driveway and made off with a radio and $125 in cash and change.
Mon., May 28 A 53-year-old Independence Township woman called police after her purse was stolen while she shopped in a grocery store on Dixie Highway near Maybee Road.
A 52-year-old Oak Park woman reported someone stole $1,295 in electronic equipment and other items from her unlocked vehicle left during a concert at DTE.
A 21-year-old Independence Township man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant after he was pulled over on a traffic violation.
A 31-year-old homeowner living in the 4600 block of Ottawa Court reported someone stole a digital camera out of the vehicle left unlocked in his driveway over the weekend.
A 45-year-old homeowner living in the 9500 block of Columbia Avenue called police after discovering someone had damaged a group of mailboxes on the corner of Columbia and Whipple Lake Road.
Tues., May 29 A 37-year-old woman living in the 5100 block of Old Cove reported $350 in losses after someone entered the vehicle left in her garage.
A 26-year-old Highland Township man arrested and jailed after he was pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered to be intoxicated and in possession of open alcohol and marijuana.
A homeowner in the 5200 block of Oakhill reported a plastic bottle smelling of liquid bleach had exploded after an unknown person placed it in his mailbox.

A 34-year-old Independence Township woman reported her purse stolen after someone smashed the window out of her vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to Maybee Road and Sheringham when a resident reported a bike left in the weeds. The bike was transported to the substation and logged into found property.
Fri., May 18 A 19-year-old Independence Township woman called police to report an unknown male looking through her window while she cleaned her apartment.
Employees at a drug store near Dixie Highway and M-15 called police around 10 p.m. after a man ran from the store with a bottle of Vodka valued at about $30. The man jumped into a white Blazer, but employees were not able to obtain a license plate number.
A 58-year-old Independence Township man called police to report receiving harassing phone calls from a former coworker at Summit Place Mall in Waterford.
Sat., May 19 Police investigated a case of possible road rage when a deputy on patrol clocked two vehicles approaching on westbound Maybee Road’one vehicle was driving on the shoulder’at speeds near 70 mph. The drivers, a 50-year-old Independence Township woman and a 56-year-old Waterford man, gave conflicting stories, and each was issued traffic violation citations.
A 72-year-old Independence Township man reported receiving several phone calls from the person who was involved in an automobile accident with his wife. The harasser claimed to have minimal insurance coverage and wanted the couple to pay for damages.
A deputy on patrol alerted the Independence Township Fire Department after discovering a brush fire in the township’s DPW yard on Flemings Lake Road, where residential yard waste was stored after a collection.
Sun., May 20 An Independence Township man was cited for possession of marijuana after he was pulled over on a traffic violation near Dixie Highway and Maybee Road.
A 27-year-old man reported a break in on the home he recently purchased in the 4300 block of Independence. The man said someone had illegally entered the home several times while he waited for the closing date.
Three Independence Township men were cited for marijuana possession when a deputy on patrol discovered the trio sitting in a car with no license plate near Upland and Bridgewater.
The owner of an Independence Township company providing blood-alcohol testing called police after a woman’s test results showed she was too intoxicated to drive. The woman, who is on probation through the 52-2 District Court, told a deputy she drank mouthwash.
Police responded to a call about family trouble after an argument between a 24-year-old man and his 38-year-old wife became physical. The woman broke a window out of the vehicle in which she’d locked her keys, and left before deputies arrived.
Mon., May 21 A deputy on patrol near Waldon Road and Clintonville Road alerted the Independence Township Fire Department after discovering a resident’s hot tub enclosure fully engulfed in flames. The 46-year-old homeowner was asleep at the time.
Tues., May 22 A 17-year-old Independence Township man was issued a disorderly person citation after he was identified by police as the individual responsible for homeowner complaints about an angry solicitor.
Wed., May 23 A former Independence Township man filed a police report after a previous employee agreed to fill and mail prescriptions for pain medication, but did not do so. The man said he was concerned for the woman’s safety due to her addiction to prescription medication.
A 37-year-old St. Clair Shores man reported his credit card, driver’s license and social security card missing after he became aware of $932.76 in unauthorized charges on his card. The man said he believed the theft occurred when he left his jacket and wallet in the vehicle of a friend he was visiting in the 5700 block of Parview in Independence Township.
The manager of an Independence Township apartment complex called police after maintenance men reported someone illegally dumping carpet, padding and construction materials. Police issued a citation for illegal dumping to a 30-year-old Auburn Hills man based on the license plate number obtained at the scene.
A 46-year-old White Lake man was arrested and jailed after he was pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered to have a valid felony child neglect warrant out of the Michigan Attorney General’s office.

A 22-year-old woman living in the 600 block of Oakvista called police claiming her former boyfriend knocked down a gate and was knocking on the side and rear of her home. The man was gone when deputies arrived, but was later discovered asleep, highly intoxicated and bleeding in his car. The 24-year-old man, who told police he intentionally cut himself, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and transported to a medical facility for committal.

Mon., May 14 A 49-year-old female living in the 9600 block of Klaus Drive reported an unknown person broke out the driver’s side window in a car she recently purchased for her son. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched for family trouble when an argument between a 36-year-old man and his 32-year-old former wife became heated.
A 17-year-old female was arrested and transported to Oakland County Jail on domestic assault charges after an argument with her mother became physical.

Fri., April 27 Police were seeking a warrant after the manager of a music store on Dixie Highway called police to report that a man failed to make good on a promise to pay for an amplifier and music stand he was allowed to take home. The merchandise was valued at $335.44.
Sun., April 29 A 19-year-old Independence Township man was issued an appearance citation after police pulled him over on a traffic violation and found him in possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and alcohol.
A 49-year-old woman reported her purse stolen from an unlocked vehicle left in a church parking lot where she was teaching a class. The bag contained a Palm Pilot, credit cards and a driver’s license.
A 19-year-old female called police after discovering someone had vandalized her vehicle by scratching obscenities into the paint.
A 36-year-old woman was arrested and jailed on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after she nearly sideswiped a sheriff’s patrol car near Dixie Highway and Maybee Road.
Mon., April 30 A 32-year-old San Francisco man was arrested and jailed after an argument with a former boyfriend, now living in Independence Township, became physical.
Employees at a fast-food restaurant on Sashabaw Road called police to report a man panhandling in the drive-thru lane. Reports came in of the same man begging for money at a nearby gas station and grocery store, as well, and police located the individual and cited him for disorderly conduct.
A maintenance person at Clarkston Schools called to report a broken window and damaged screens at an unused school building on Maybee Road. It did not appear anyone had illegally entered the building.
A 32-year-old Independence Township woman reported finding stolen property in her vehicle after her boyfriend, who was arrested and jailed on a previous warrant, had used the vehicle.
A 24-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 5800 block of Willow was arrested and jailed after threatening her 20-year-old gun-carrying boyfriend with a knife. Police filed a report with the Family Independence Agency after learning the woman’s 6-year-old son had witnessed the event.

Sat., April 21 The owner of a Springfield Township restaurant filed an informational report fearing an escalation of circumstances after a White Lake woman complained that she was not satisfied with her dining experience and demanded reimbursement for the meal consumed by a large party.
A 14-year-old boy scout from Ortonville tuned in pieces of several $20 bills and a dye pack found along the highway during a clean-up project. The boy’s father thought the findings might be related to a bank robbery.
Sun., April 22 A 38-year-old woman living in the 11000 block of Bigelow reported her mailbox and post had gone missing after someone pulled it from the ground. The woman reported the same incident several days earlier, and a deputy returned the property after it was located nearby.
Mon., April 23 a 40-year-old Davisburg woman reported someone broke into her vehicle over night and made off with a personal music player and $20 in change.
A 79-year-old Davisburg man fearing identity theft reported attempting to enroll in a health plan and finding someone using his social security number was already using the plan.
Fri., April 27 Deputies were called to a gas station at I-75 and East Holly Road after an unknown male pumped $34.02 in gasoline and drove off without paying.
Sat., April 28 Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department with a vehicle fire on Dixie Highway north of I-75. The car was unoccupied and the fire was ruled accidental.
An Independence Township man was arrested and jailed for a third offense of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Police also impounded the man’s car, destroyed his driver’s license and license plate and cited the individual for violating license restrictions stating ‘licensee shall not consume intoxicants.?
Mon., April 30 a 41-year-old Davisburg man reported suspicions that his 20-year-old step-son, had been entering his home without permission and taking food, cigarettes and clothing.
Tues., May 1 A 30-year old Royal Oak woman working in Springfield Township told police she returned to her vehicle and found a window smashed out and her purse lying by the left rear tire. Since she had nothing of value in the purse, none of the contents were missing.
Thurs., May 3 A 26-year-old Davisburg female was arrested and jailed on charges of fleeing and eluding police and driving while her license was suspended. She was pursued when she nearly hit the vehicle of a patrolling deputy.

Thurs., April 19 Two 19-year-old men were arrested and jailed on previous warrants after they were pulled over on a traffic violation. The men were in possession of drugs, paraphernalia and liquor.
A report was sent to an Oakland County probation officer after a 22-year-old Pontiac man with a criminal history of breaking and entering was pulled over in Independence Township and discovered in possession of burglary tools, black clothing and various stereo and car radio equipment.
Police were seeking a warrant against a 37-year-old Alpena man who was pulled over on a traffic violation near M-15 and Princess Lane. The man struggled against deputies who handcuffed him when they saw him trying to either hide or retrieve something in the front of his jeans. The man finally admitted to having pot in his pants when he was informed a narcotics dog was on the way.
Fri., April 20 A 62-year-old woman was arrested and jailed for assault on her 44-year-old daughter after an argument became violent.
A 25-year-old woman told police she was advised by representatives of her bank that someone stole $7,000 after gaining unauthorized access to her savings account.
An 18-year-old Holly man was arrested and jailed on a previous liquor violation warrant after he was pulled over on a traffic violation of the Holly Police Department. The man was also cited for possession when deputies discovered marijuana in his vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched for a welfare check on a 27-year-old woman who said she received a number of threatening phone calls from her 37-year-old boyfriend. The woman said the man had beaten her before, and she was afraid of him.
Sun., April 22 Police were looking for a 24-year-old Independence Township man after responding to a call from his 22-year-old girlfriend who said the couple had been drinking and the man called her derogatory names and hit her in the face and head several times. The woman declined to give a written statement, saying she didn’t want the man to face any trouble.
Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department when a pickup truck driven by a 22-year-old Pontiac woman caught fire while she was driving on I-75 near Sashabaw Road. The woman said a friend was driving behind her and called on a cell phone to tell her to pull over because smoke was coming from the vehicle. The woman pulled her 1-year-old son from his car seat and ran when she saw fireballs coming from beneath the vehicle.
A 37-year-old Independence Township female living on Landcaster Drive reported that someone had entered her apartment while she was out and took her wedding ring. The woman told police she suspected her former husband of the act.
Mon., April 23 Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department when a fire broke out in a vacant condo in the 6500 block of Ridgeview. A Jacuzzi was found to be the cause.
Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department on a call about a 77-year-old man complaining of arm and shoulder pain. The man was transported to the hospital, but passed away from cardiac failure.
Thurs., April 26 Air conditioning units were torn apart and stolen from behind a building in Independence Township.
A 56-year-old man living in the 10000 block of Hadley near Oakhill said a neighbor had been accusing him and his guests of driving across his lawn and he wanted the information documented because he felt the situation could escalate into a violent encounter.
Fri., April 27 A woman living in the 700 block of Hawksmore reported a stolen mailbox replaced the day before had been stolen again. Deputies could find no other boxes damaged or missing on the block.
Sat., April 28 A 32-year-old Independence Township woman living in the 5100 block of Pine Knob reported her purse stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The bag contained a cell phone and numerous credit cards, she said.

Mon., April 16 Deputies were dispatched to I-75 near Dixie Highway to assist Michigan State Police with a rollover injury accident.
A 49-year-old man reported $498 in damage after someone reportedly punched a hole with a pick-type tool in the sidewall of two tires on his pickup truck.
Tues., April 17 A 39-year-old man called police after confronting the occupants of a suspicious vehicle driving up and down his street with the lights off. The man, who told police he was alert to strangers on the block because he had a landscaping trailer full of equipment, said teens in the car gave him a story that didn’t make sense. Police were seeking to question the individuals.
Thurs., April 19 A 60-year-old man called police after the passenger of a passing car pointed a semi-automatic handgun out the window at him as he was jogging on Parker near Ormond Road around 4 p.m.
A 35-year-old woman walked in to the substation to report a possible identity theft after she recieved notice from Direct TV that someone tried to open a fifth account in her name. The woman said she had no accounts with the company.

Township

A report on last week’s Police and Fire page should have stated that toxicology results were not yet back for a 30-year-old Independence Township man found deceased by his parents April 10. Family members said previously missing pain medication had been located, and the cause of death had not yet been determined. The report also stated the man lived with ‘controllable medical conditions? but his parents said he fought a difficult and ongoing battle with epilepsy.
Fri., April 13 Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department after 17 residents and 3 guests were evacuated from an assisted living complex when a maintenance person noticed smoke coming from an electrical outlet.
A 41-year-old woman living in the 6400 block of Golfview reported discovering shaving cream, toilet paper, smashed eggs, mustard and ketchup on the car driven by her 16-year-old daughter.
Sat., April 14 Two teen females pulled over for a traffic violation were issued a minor in possession citation after open intoxicants were discovered in the vehicle.
A warrant request was sent to the prosecutor after an Ortonville man was pulled over for a traffic violation and found to have a suspended license and a stolen plate on his vehicle. The man had four previous suspensions.
A 37-year-old woman reported $2,700 in losses after a cell phone, laptop computer, iPod and CD player were stolen from an unlocked vehicle left in her driveway overnight.
A 28-year-old man living in the 6000 block of Ashwood reported after-market speakers stolen from his unlocked vehicle overnight.

Wed., April 18 a 36-year-old woman reported she was notified of more than $20,000 in unauthorized charges after she called the company to inquire about her statement. The woman said the card never left her possession.

Fri., April 13 Deputies conducting a traffic stop after observing a driver traveling at about 45 mph in a 70 mph zone called EMS after coming in contact with a confused, disoriented 63-year-old Oak Park woman. The woman, who was transported to the hospital, claimed she might be having a reaction to her medication.
A 32-year-old woman reported damage to the3 hubcaps on her car and told police she believed her child’s father, against whom she recently won a custody battle, could be responsible.
Sat., April 14 A 43-year-old man called police after discovering a flat tire, as well as a dark sticky substance around the gas cap on his pick up truck. The man told police he believed neighbors, who were also family members, might be responsible.

Deputies were seeking a warrant package on stalking charges, as well as malicious use of phones, after a 24-year-old Independence Township man repeatedly made threats and used vulgar language during a long series of calls to the grocery store where his former girlfriend is employed.
A maintenance person at an Independence Township apartment building reported a door to the main office kicked in over night.
Sat., April 7 A driver in the Dixie Highway and White Lake Road area flagged a patrolling deputy to report erratic driving by an approaching motorist. The highly intoxicated 17-year-old female driver of the car in question was arrested and jailed after becoming violent and verbally abusive when she was pulled over. The girl said she was rushing home to meet a midnight curfew so her mother would not lock her out of the house.
Mon., April 9 A 22-year-old man walked into the Independence Township substation seeking advice on child custody after his former girlfriend allegedly abandoned the couple’s 3-year-old son, saying she did not wish to care for the child any longer. The father was advised to contact Oakland County family court.
Police were dispatched to a gas station near Sashabaw Road and Maybee Road after the male driver of a newer model silver Grand Prix drove off without paying after he pumped $14.11 in gasoline.
A 20-year-old man living in Independence Township was pulled over after deputies spotted him driving a car with expired Texas plates. The man, who had no driver’s license, registration or insurance was transported to Oakland County Jail and turned over to immigration officials after admitting he was an illegal Mexican alien.
A homeowner living in the 7700 block of Fieldstone Ridge called police to report his home had been broken into while he was out of town. An unknown person made off with a laptop computer, iPod and miscellaneous items after smashing a basement window to gain access to the home.
Tues., April 10 A 28-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed on a valid Friend of the Court warrant and probation violation.
A 40-year-old woman living in an apartment complex off Sashabaw Road called police to report an unknown person had been stealing from her DVD collection over a period of months. Someone had also installed spyware on her PC, the woman said.
Deputies were seeking a warrants on several charges after a 29-year-old Pontiac man walked into the Independence Township home of a former girlfriend and allegedly made off with several thousand dollars in precious metals after physically assaulting the 28-year-old woman and grabbing her phone as she attempted to call 911.
Deputies were dispatched to the I-75 and Dixie Highway area after an angry motorist called to report a reckless driver who nearly caused an accident. The man admitted to deputies that he was driving ‘kind of crazy.? The driver was issued a citation for reckless driving, and several passing motorists honked and gave ‘thumbs up? to the officer as he spoke with the man.
Deputies were dispatched to the 8600 block of Sashabaw after the parents of a 30-year-old man with a history of controllable medical conditions discovered their son deceased in his bed. The man had been at a local doctor’s office for back pain the previous day, and was issued a prescription for pain medication, and 15 of the 60 pills were missing.
Wed., April 11 A 43-year-old man living in the 7900 block of Perry Lake Road called police after discovering a Sirius Satellite Radio stolen from the car’s dash. A duffel bag containing clothing was also missing from the vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to a hardware store on Dixie Highway after an employee reported the theft of two large spools of heavy copper wire, valued at about $120 each. The woman told police a young man pulled into the store’s fire lane in a 4-door dark green Bonneville and caused a distraction while another young man ran from the store with the wire and jumped into the car.

Township
Sat., April 7 Deputies were seeking a warrant on possession of narcotics after crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were discovered in a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Southgate man and a 36-year-old Trenton woman. The woman had a bench warrant out of Trenton and both had a suspended license.
Sun., April 8 A 46-year-old Springfield Township woman was arrested and jailed on domestic violence charges after instigating a physical altercation which left red marks and small cuts on the neck of her 56-year-old husband, whom she married about a year ago.
Mon., April 9 A 52-year-old Davisburg woman living in an apartment complex on Big Lake Road reported the theft of pain medication from her refrigerator. The woman, who claimed her physician would not refill the prescription unless she made a police report, said she believes her drug-addicted former neighbors took the pills.
Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department on a medical call after a 52-year old man replacing shingles on his garage in the 11800 block of Old Oaks Lane took a 12-foot fall from the ladder he was climbing. The man was bleeding from the head and complaining of extreme hip pain.
Tues., April 10 A 16-year-old youth visiting the home of a friend in the 5200 block of Hillsboro called police and reported an unknown person vandalized his car while he was inside watching television. Police observed four slashed tires, a smashed rear window, as well as a derogatory word spray painted on the vehicle, but also noted the young man several times changed his story about where and when the damage occurred.

Mon., April 2 Deputies were dispatched to the 4900 block of Sundale on reports of a young person driving at high speed through the neighborhood. The young man was pulled over and reported to be ‘very polite and honest and admitted he was only 15 and did not have a drivers license.? He was released to his stepfather with a citation to appear in juvenile court on charges of driving without a license, insurance and, proper plates.
A 42-year-old Independence Township woman fearing identity theft reported receiving a bill for $960.71 from Direct TV, a service she claimed never to have subscribed to.
A 20-year-old woman with a felony warrant arrived at the Independence Township substation to turn herself in. She was transported to Oakland County Jail.
Tues., April 3 Deputies were dispatched when a caller reported a vehicle fire on Sashabaw Road and I-75. The driver of the 1993 Chevy Tahoe said he pulled over when the car began smoking, then erupted in flames.
A 37-year-old Pontiac man driving erratically in Independence Township was pulled over by deputies and transported to Oakland County jail after a LEIN check the man had two Friend of the Court warrants out of Oakland County.
Wed., April 4 A 17-year-old teen was issued an appearance citation after he was caught stealing allergy medicine from an Independence Township grocery store. The youth’s 13-year-old companion claimed he had no knowledge of the theft and was released to his mother. Both boys were asked not to return to the store.

A 36-year-old Mexican woman living in Pontiac was pulled over and transported to Oakland County Jail on a detainer to await immigration officials after she admitted she had no green card and was an illegal alien.
Thurs., April 5 A 43-year-old Independence Township woman called police after arriving home from work at 4 a.m. to discover burnt cigarettes and beer cans scattered around the home from a party thrown by her 17-year-old son. The son bit the mother’s hand, and a fight ensued.

Springfield Township
Fri., March 30 A 46-year-old White Lake woman in the process of moving from her Springfield Township home called police after her former husband caused damage to the home. The 47-year-old man was allegedly angry the home was in foreclosure.
Deputies were summoned to assist Michigan State Police after a trooper reported suspicious circumstances involving two men in the parking lot of an Independence Township grocery store. The deputies located the men inside the store and escorted them outside to pat the duo for weapons, discovering only a package of pilfered pepperoni. The store manager did not wish to press charges, but the men were connected with a home invasion in Rose Township and turned over to state troopers.
Sat., March 31 Police were called to an apartment on Dixie Highway after reports of a vehicle traveling northbound crossed the center and southbound lanes and collided with a row of mailboxes, knocking over nine. The car then traveled over a culvert and hit a telephone pole and a tree. Tenants told deputies they heard the crash around 4 a.m., but none looked to see what happened.
Mon., April 2 A 19-year-old Waterford woman reported two credit cards stolen from a purse left in her unlocked vehicle while she was working as part of a crew at a Springfield Township park.
Tues., April 3 A 31-year-old Springfield Township woman called police after her husband arrived in a drunken state at the home of her parents where she took the children for refuge after an argument.

Independence
Township
Mon., March 26 A 16-year-old boy reported his yellow Red Line BMX bicycle stolen after leaving it unlocked outside a grocery store near Sashabaw Road and Maybee Road. The bike is valued at about $250.
The manager at a home for autistic individuals reported that a white mountain bike was stolen from outside the home.
An association member claimed an unknown person defaced the wooden swimming dock at the Cranberry Lake association beach with black spray paint.
A 55-year-old man in the process of being evicted from his home in the 5000 block of Old Cove claimed he returned to the house before the final eviction date to find a lock box on the door and a number of valuable electronic items missing from inside.
When a 25-year-old Independence Township man with a permit to carry a concealed weapon was pulled over for driving a vehicle with illegally tinted windows deputies confiscated the man’s weapon and several magazines after finding the man driving while intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. He was issued tickets for possession of marijuana, as well as for possessing a weapon while intoxicated. A report was sent to the CCW board.
The district manager of a sandwich shop located in the 6600 block of Dixie Highway claimed a 19-year-old employee and her boyfriend embezzled $700 in cash from the store. The manager claimed money was missing form the weekend deposits, and said surveillance tapes showed the couple acting suspicious.
Wed., March 28 The parents of an 18-year-old Independence Township man called police claiming their son, who suffers from a heroin addiction, was possibly suicidal and left in the family car without permission. The couple called back later to inform deputies th e son and the car had returned intact.
Thurs., March 28 A 42-year-old Flint man was arrested and jailed during a traffic stop when it was revealed he had a valid Friend of the Court warrant out of Genesee County.
Thurs., March 29 A 50-year-old man filed a police report claiming he was attending his father’s funeral when he was assaulted by a 30-year-old nephew. The man claimed his nephew elbowed him in the ribs as he walked through the lobby of the Clarkston funeral home. The man has a past/expired PPO against the nephew, who reportedly has a history of violence against family members.
A 28-year-old man living in the 4700 block of White Lake Road was arrested and jailed when deputies recognized the man, who was outside working on his car, as an individual with a valid Friend of the Court warrant out of Oakland County.
A 26-year-old Auburn Hills man driving in the dark with no headlights was issued an appearance citation after deputies pulled him over and found marijuana residue and open intoxicants in the vehicle.
A 23-year-old male driving with obstructed vision and no license plate received a ticket for possession of marijuana after the vehicle was pulled over. A 19-year-old female traveling with the man received a ticket for underage consumption of alcohol.

Wed., March 21 Deputies were dispatched to the 9700 block of Dixie Highway for a report of damage to a privacy fence surrounding a water treatment facility. Two six-foot panels were lying on the ground and a third was damaged.
Fri., March 23 A 17-year-old youth and his father called police to report that the teen’s ‘Final Fantasy? character had been compromised after someone hacked into his online account and changed the member password and credit card information used for member access.
Mon., March 26 Deputies were seeking a warrant against a 30-year-old Waterford female after she entered the apartment of an acquaintance without permission and was found to have illegal prescription and street drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia, in her possession.
Tues., March 27 A 43-year-old Springfield Township man called police claiming six ‘Mexican males? to whom he owed money were pounding on the front door. The man claimed the group ran off after he told them he was armed with a tire iron and calling 911. However, police arrested the tire-iron wielder after a LEIN check revealed a valid Friend of the Court warrant out of Lapeer County.
A 37-year-old Springfield Township female living in the block of 7200 Blue Water called police to report that an unknown person had thrown a rock and broke her glass patio table during the night. The woman called police on fighting neighbors the previous week and feared the damage came as retaliation.
A 30-year-old Davisburg man was arrested and jailed after he was spotted parked in a dark area and questioned for suspicious activity. The man told deputies he was 21-years-old, but the man’s true identity and age were discovered and he was transported to Oakland County Jail and held on three misdemeanor warrants as well as a Friend of the Court warrant out of Genesee County.
Fri., March 30 A 32-year-old Highland Park man was arrested and jailed during a traffic stop when it was discovered he had traffic and Friend of the Court warrants out of Oakland County.

Township
Sat., March 17 A 58-year-old woman was committed after consuming alcohol and overdosing on antidepressant medication. The woman had recently been diagnosed with cancer and claimed she did not want to burden her husband. The husband claimed his wife attempted suicide four years ago.
Sun., March 18 A construction company employee reported a trailer at a church construction reported missing tools after an unknown person removed the lock and entered the trailer. The site had been pilfered just a month ago, the man said.
Mon., March 19 A 19-year-old Independence Township woman reported receiving harassing phone calls from a 23-year-old Lake Orion man she had previously dated. The woman claimed her former boyfriend called her names and threatened to assault her or have her assaulted by someone else.
A homeowner in the 5300 block of Parview went to the garage to discover her car door open and a full case of CDs missing from inside the vehicle.
A 20-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges against his 53-year-old father after deputies were called to the home for a dispute in progress. The incident stemmed from a disagreement during a family poker game, which escalated when sleeping family members were angered by the noise.
A 31-year-old Independence Township woman called to report that she loaned her car to her boyfriend so he could attend an Alcoholics Annoymous meeting, but found $120 missing from her purse and worried the man was out buying crack cocaine. Deputies then discovered the woman had a personal protection order against the 29-year-old Madison heights man, and he was arrested and jailed for PPO violation upon his return. The man said he’d been staying with the woman and thought it was OK.
Wed., March 21 An Independence Township woman discovered someone had made four separate withdrawals with her ATM card, totaling $500, after she inadvertently left her purse at a gas station near Dixie Highway and Telegraph in Waterford. All the withdrawals were made in Waterford, as well.
A coach for the Clarkston High School boys? track team filed a police report after a member of his team was assaulted while running with teammates near the Independence Township Public Library on Clarkston Road. The boys claimed they had seen the man at the corner of Main Street and Clarkston Road, and a member of the team yelled ‘very nice? because he liked the man’s car’in which three females were also traveling. The man then jumped out of his car near the library and began punching one of the boys in the face and stomach.
A 27-year-old female was picked up in St. Clair Shores and transported to Oakland County Jail when it was discovered she had a valid felony warrant out of Independence Township.
Thurs. March 22 The job of a 29-year-old Madison Heights man went up in smoke after he was accused by his employer of stealing a large quantity of cigarettes, valued at approximately $18,000, over the course of his employment at an Independence Township gas station. The employer installed surveillance equipment and claimed he could clearly see the employee taking the cigarettes. The man initially denied the allegations, but later agreed to repay the money.

Township
Fri. March 16 A 24-year-old Springfield Township man reported receiving threatening phone calls from his ex-girlfriend, who claimed the man was the father of her child. The man claimed the 23-year-old woman had refused a paternity test for the child, but threatened to set him up in a crime, destroy his family’s business reputation, and inflict harm to the man, his vehicle, and his home if he did not support the child.
A 52-year-old Davisburg man was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges after throwing a cup at his 47-year-old girlfriend during an argument, causing the woman’s lip to swell and bleed. More than half the woman’s front tooth was chipped off, as well.
Thurs. March 18 Deputies were dispatched to assist Springfield Township firefighters with a brush fire in a field near the 9000 block of Patrick in Holly. It was unclear how the fire originated, but firefighters noted a child’s fort in the center of the burned area.
Mon. March 19 An employee at a car dealership on Dixie Highway called police after arriving at work to discover the passenger window smashed from a customer’s car left for repair. An after-market stereo, speakers and amp were missing from the vehicle.
The manager of a Springfield Township car dealership on E. Holly Road called police to report an unknown person smashed out the driver’s window of a vehicle parked in the company’s used car lot during the weekend, and made off with an after-market stereo, speakers and amp.
A 51-year-old Davisburg woman called police to report an altercation with her sister, a 54-year-old White Lake woman. The two had recently resumed contact after a 20-year estrangement resulting from a dispute over their deceased mother’s property, but quickly resumed arguing over family possessions.

Independence Township

Tues., March 13 A 47-year-old man living in an Independence Township group home was found deceased in his bed by the home’s manager. The man was mildly retarded and suffered from a seizure disorder, but had not been ill.
A16-year-old runaway was lodged in Children’s Village after deputies received an anonymous tip and picked the youth up at the Independence Township home of a friend where he’d been staying. Authorities were considering charges against the 46-year-old mother of the friend, who claimed she was not aware the youth was a runaway.
A 36-year-old Metamora man was arrested and jailed after deputies running a LEIN on several people involved in an Independence Township civil matter found the man had a valid Friend of the Court Warrants out of Lapeer County.
Wed., March 14 An Independence Township teen and his mother reported that someone entered the family’s unlocked vehicle and made off with radio equipment, a digital camera and snowboard.
A 35-year-old man living in the 4400 block of Sunflower Circle in Independence Township reported he was awakened by the sound of his car alarm and went outside to discover the passenger window smashed from his vehicle. Nothing was missing from the car, but police discovered another vehicle in the neighborhood with the door wide open.
A 49-year-old man living in the 5400 block of Old Cove called to report a camera and briefcase missing from the vehicle left parked in his driveway overnight.
A 37-year-old female reported a portable GPS unit and medical equipment stolen from her vehicle, which she said was left locked in the driveway. The vehicle was still locked in the morning, with no signs of forced entry.
Thurs., March 15 A homeowner in the 4900 block of Pine Knob Lanein Independence Township called police after arriving home to discover borrowed fishing equipment, including a shanty, power auger and underwater camera, missing from his driveway. The driveway also had a large crack, indicating a large vehicle had pulled in.
A 31-year-old Independence Township man working at a local pizza restaurant filed a complaint after he was allegedly assaulted by his manager, a 49-year-old lake Orion woman. A discussion about a former girlfriend led to an exchange of words between the two. The man claimed his manager began hitting and punching him after he took her up on a challenge to ‘call her a name.? Police were seeking a warrant against the woman.

Springfield Township

Mon., March 12 A homeowner in the 8500 block of Waumegah called the police when he saw the man shining a flashlight on his truck, then went outside and confronted the man, only to be dragged 200-300 feet when he grabbed onto the door handle as the man tried to drive away. The 19-year-old Springfield Township man was arrested and jailed after he was discovered to be involved with reports of larceny from a vehicle.
A deputy wrote a firearm discharge report after three deer were hit by a train near Andersonville Road and Edgar Road in Springfield Township. Two of the animals were shot when they were discovered still alive and suffering from broken limbs.
Deputies were dispatched to follow up on a home invasion that occurred Feb. 15 after two young men showed up at the home saying they had found the owner’s stolen computer at a pawn shop and paid $400 to retrieve it for her. The serial numbers matched the stolen computer, but neither man could produce a receipt, nor did they know the name, location or address of the pawnshop. They did, however, offer to repair the computer, which had been dismantled when it was stolen, free of charge.
Tues., March 13 A 71-year-old Davisburg woman, who was last seen sitting on the edge of her bed around 7:45 a.m. was discovered deceased in her bed by caretakers who went to check on her around 3 p.m. The woman, who was prescribed 11 medications, suffered from several ailments, but the death was unexpected.
A 50-year-old woman called to report that her home in the 8600 block of Andersonville Road had been broken into and ransacked while she was away. Thieves made off with jewelry, a pellet gun, cash and several bottles of alcohol, but other valuables were left untouched.
Thurs., March 15 a 26-year-old Oxford man was pulled over for an expired plate and jailed when deputies discovered the man had a valid warrant for failing to appear in court for a drunk driving violation, as well as a bench warrant for probation violation in an impaired driving incident. Cash surety bonds totaled $35,000.

Two charged with burglary
Two men were arrested and charged with burglary after smashing through the front door of an Independence Township party store the second time in less than a month.
Police responding to an alarm at the Lakeview Food Basket located at 4710 Clarkston Road discovered lottery tickets and liquor bottles scattered about the store in situation almost identical to the robbery that occurred Feb. 27.
Deputies received an alert around 2:30 a.m. March 13 from Lake Orion police and moved into position on Clintonville Road just as the suspect car came into view.
The two men began acting very nervous when they were pulled over, and a deputy noted the passenger shaking and ‘profusely sweating.?
Broken glass, liquor bottles and lottery tickets were scattered about the vehicle, and large bags of returnable bottles were spotted in the car’s backseat.
Surveillance video clearly showed the two men entering the store after smashing the front door with a concrete block.
Both later admitted to ‘drinking all day? before deciding to break into the store, and also confessed responsibility for the Feb. 27 incident.
Scot Francis Proper, 47, of Pontiac and Troy Anthony Klein, 29, of Independence Township were lodged in Oakland County Jail on $50,000 bond each.

Mon., March 5 a 32-year-old Independence Township woman called to report that her former husband had been calling her and threatening her with taking away the children and causing harm to her new boyfriend. The woman claimed her former spouse had been violent in the past and fears for her safety.
Thieves made off with a microwave, radio, fax machine and copier when a construction trailer in the 7400 block of South Village Drive was reportedly broken into over the weekend.
Tues., March 6 A 17-year-old Independence Township youth was issued an appearance citation after deputies discovered him in possession of marijuana and stolen prescription drugs during a traffic stop near MAaybee Road and Center Street.
An Independence Township woman living in the 7000 block of Andersonville Road called police to report someone had entered through her front door and ‘trashed? her bedroom while she was not at home.
A 24-year-old Independence Township woman was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic violence after she hit her boyfriend in the face, causing his nose to bleed, then left the home on foot with the couple’s infant son, who was not dressed for the low-teen temperatures.
Wed., March 7 An Independence Township woman in the 6200 block of Cram Lane claimed a pickup truck had been continuously driving up and down her street in a reckless manner and purposely ran over her mailbox. Deputies documented the damage, noting that no other boxes on the street had been vandalized.
Thurs., March 8 a 19-year-old male was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after deputies discovered the items in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.
A 12-foot telescoping aluminum ladder was reported stolen by a homeowner after it was left outside overnight in the 5200 block of Oakhill.
A stolen automobile was recovered and impounded from a parking lot in the 5600 block of Parview. The vehicle, which was registered to a Wolverine Lake man, had been sitting in the lot for several months, said the apartment manager.
A 17-year-old Renaissance High School student was issued an appearance citation for probation violation and under-21 consumption of alcohol after the principal noticed the smell of alcohol on the student’s breath during school hours.
Sat., March 10 An Independence Township resident called to report that an unknown person had fraudulently used her name and address to open a credit card account and run up a bill for about $579.
An Independence Township woman reported a waiter hired in 2005 at her family business in Waterford claimed he was a mortgage broker by day and eventually talked the woman and several other family members into refinancing their homes through his company. The woman claimed she lost several thousand dollars in the transaction, and that the man threatened to harm her when informed the scam would be reported.
Sun., March 11 A 19-year-old Livonia man was involuntarily committed when deputies were dispatched to Dixie Highway and Ortonville Road where the man was found running through traffic yelling for passing cars to hit him’he was also kicking at the cars and trying to open doors as the vehicles passed. The man later alleged he took an unknown quantity of mushrooms and other drugs.
An Independence Township man turned in a wallet containing cash and personal information found near his home. Unable to locate the wallet’s owner, deputies logged the wallet into the property room at the Independence Township substation.
Mon., March 12 A 22-year-old Independence Township man was assaulted by two females after he asked the women to leave his home. The man had a split lip and long scratches over his arms, chest, and back. His eyeglasses were also broken during the incident.

Springfield
Township

Fri., March 2 Deputies were dispatched to assist on a medical call when a 32-year-old Springfield Township woman fell after overdosing on prescription medications
Sat., March 3 A 58-year-old Pontiac man was arrested and jailed after he was pulled over for speeding and deputies confirmed two valid Friend of the Court warrants from Genesee County for child neglect with a total bond of $10,878.
Sun., March 4 Deputies on patrol in Springfield Township removed 11 illegally posted ground signs along the roadway shoulder and on utility poles on Dixie Highway. After a message left with the business owner was ignored, deputies issued citations for every day each sign remained posted.
Mon., March 5 The manager of a business in the 8400 block of Andersonville Road reported that three company vehicles had been broken into, and an attempt was made to gain access to a fourth. Thieves made off with an undetermined number of ladders, hand tools and power tools.
Deputies responded to the scene where a woman said she was physically attacked by her 33-year-old husband, who accused her of having an affair with a co-worker. The woman ran to a neighbor’s home to call police, while the man drove off with the couple’s 5-year-old son, who witnessed part of the altercation after the sound of fighting woke him. A report was filed with the Family Independence Agency.
Thurs., March 8 A Springfield Township woman reported that her employer-issued laptop, which she hadn’t used in about a month, was stolen from her car at an undermined time.
Fri., March 9 Deputies were dispatched to a grocery store located at Dixie Highway and Davisburg Road for a victim of a stabbing. Upon arriving deputies were informed by the victim, a 36-year-old Groveland Township resident, he had been stabbed and robbed. After receiving information from the victim, Michigan State Police followed a vehicle on to Dixie Highway and conducted a traffic stop just outside a trailer park. Springfield deputies arrived at the location and took all four subjects into custody. Two male subjects were placed under arrest. The driver was charged and arraigned on robbery charges and the other man arrested was charged and arraigned on a charge of armed robbery with a knife. They are being held at Oakland County Jail. The victim was treated and released from Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc for a stab wound to his right rear upper thigh.
A Springfield Township man sustained a 5-inch knife wound to his leg after he was robbed by two men he’d met at a bar earlier in the evening. The victim reported that the men demanded money, then attacked and cut him after extending an invitation, which he accepted, to ride along while they bought cocaine. The attackers, a 24-year-old male and a 36-year-old male, were apprehended and jailed on charges of armed robberyt and assault.

Sat., March 10 The owner of a large local business called police to report that an unknown person had dismantled two air conditioning units in the backyard of his Davisburg residence and made off with the condensers.
Sun., March 11 A Springfield Township teen reported an unknown person smashed out the window of her parent’s car, stealing her purse and a radio, while she had the car out to visit friends.

Sun., Feb. 25 A 50-year-old female was arrested and jailed on charges of operating while intoxicated and causing an accident. The woman caused extensive damage to a guardrail near Maybee and Waterford Road when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled it over during what she claimed was showing off to a friend after two beers. The vehicle landed upright.
A 41-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic violence after becoming intoxicated and physically attacking his wife when she refused to surrender the car keys. The man, who was unlicensed, engaged in the act in the presence of his 13-year-old son. Deputies sent a report to child protective services.
Mon., Feb. 26 A 17-year-old Independence Township female who was driving while intoxicated ran her vehicle off the road and into the woods near Clarkston Road and Delhi. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, and police informed her parents they would be seeking a warrant pending blood alcohol test results.
A 37-year-old male was arrested and jailed on a valid Friend of the Court warrant, and deputies were also seeking a warrant for possession and use of cocaine, which was discovered in the man’s clothing.
A 49-year-old man was issued a citation for retail fraud after he was caught stealing burn cream, which he claimed he needed for burns on his face and hands, from an Independence Township grocery store. The store’s loss prevention officer remembered the man from an incident where he was caught stealing steaks from another store recently.
A gas powered saw was stolen from a locked toolbox at a construction site near Maybee and Clintonville Road in Independence Township, but several other tools were left untouched. A construction trailer at the same site was also invaded.
A 30-year-old Independence Township man woke to discover a combined $600 in cash missing from his computer bag and his wife’s purse. The man also reported that someone marked a black X over his face in a photograph taken with his wife.
Tues., Feb. 27 A 77-year-old Independence Township man called police to report receiving notification in the mail stating he’d won $250,000 in a lottery drawing. The letter, he said, required him to send a check for $3,500 to cover insurance and taxes on the winnings, but the man said he was almost certain the letter was a scam since he never plays the lottery.
The front glass was smashed out of an Independence Township party store overnight, and police discovered that a cash register had been broken into, but all the money was still inside. A lottery dispenser door was open, with tickets scattered about the store.
Independence Township parents called police when their 15-year-old son ran away from home wearing only one shoe after he was forbidden to go snowboarding until he brought his grades up.
Wed., Feb. 28 A 32-year-old Independence Township woman filed a complaint against a Waterford woman of the same age, claiming the woman had been calling her between 10 and 20 times a day demanding money that allegedly was not owed. The Waterford woman threatened the other woman with physical harm and removal of her children from the home.
Police discovered a broken-out front door and missing cash register when they responded to an alarm at an Independence Township carry-out restaurant near Andersonville and Gateway overnight. The cash register, which contained about $80, was the only thing missing from the store.
Wed., Feb. 28 Parents of a 14-year-old Clarkston Junior High girl reported that a 19-year-old male had been making inappropriate and unwanted comments and requests to their daughter through her My Space account.
Thurs., March 1 A 21-year-old male acting irrational and confused approached a deputy posted in a parking lot near Ortonville and Dixie Highway in the early morning hours claiming he was trying to get away from a sexual predator with who he’d been living for the past three weeks. The deputy dropped the man off at a local restaurant to wait for a friend to pick him up.

Independence Township
Fri., Feb. 16 Deputies were called to assist the fire department after a couple who fell asleep while smoking in bed woke to discover the bed on fire. The man threw the bedding on the back porch and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, but after the couple went inside and fell back asleep the woman woke again to find the back porch in flames.
A number of tools with a total value of approximately $1,100 were stolen from several different contractors at a work site in the 7100 block of Oakhurst after someone used a lockbox in the garage to gain entry to the home.
Sat., Feb 17 A 44-year-old White Lake man was arrested for possession of crack cocaine after deputies discovered the substance in his shoe during a traffic stop in Independence Township.
Sun., Feb 18 A 33-year-old man arrived at his father’s Independence Township home to discover the 58-year-old man, who had liver cancer, deceased on the couch.
An employee at an Independence Township business near Dixie Highway and Maybee Road called to report that someone forced open a steel cage and made off with six 20-pound propane tanks.
A 45-year-old Independence Township woman called police to report that an unknown person took four credit cards and a check card from the purse in her car.
A 59-year-old Independence Township man was found deceased on the floor of his home when two siblings arrived to check on his welfare. The home, in the 6500 block of Maple Drive, had no electric, heat or running water, and nearly all the windows on the main floor were broken and covered with plastic. Autopsy results concluded the man died accidentally by cause of hypothermia, but was also in the final stages of liver disease.
Tues. Feb. 20 An employee at an Independence Township grocery store near Sashabaw and Maybee called police to report that she’d gone out for a cigarette and saw a man tossing propane tanks from the outside storage cage into his car. After the man sped away, it was discovered that the padlock was cut from the cage.
A 58-year-old man was found deceased on the Independence Oaks County Park Camp Wilderness Trail by a local couple who called 911 after the man’s dog refused to let the man and woman get close enough to check on the man. Preliminary autopsy results indicated the man died from a pulmonary embolism.
Wed., Feb. 21 Several people in the 6300-6500 blocks of Wellesley Terrace called to report that during the night an unknown person switched license plates on cars in the neighborhood. Police believe prank-playing adolescents were responsible.
A 28-year-old Independence Township woman was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic abuse after she threatened a male companion with a baseball bat. The woman told police she was angry because the man ‘never does what she tells him.? The man said she told him to put away some dishes, then threatened to break out his car windows and knife his tires when he wouldn’t leave the home. The woman’s 6-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter witnessed the altercation, and police filed abuse/neglect papers with the FIA.
Thurs. Feb 22 Deputies dispatched to investigate the source of several prank 911 calls from two different pay phones in Independence Township came in contact with a 32-year-old Lake Orion man who claimed he’d been released recently from a Pontiac Hospital and made the calls because he wanted to go someplace warm. The man appeared to be suffering from mental health issues, and was transported to Common Ground Sanctuary for possible committal.
A 69-year-old Independence Township woman called police after her 23-year-old grandson became agitated and threatened to harm himself when his grandparents did not immediately grant $5,000 he said he needed to begin flying lessons.

Springfield Township
Tues., Feb. 20 deputies sent a report of probation violation to 52-2 District Court after a 32-year-old man was pulled over and produced a PBT result of .142. The legal limit is .080. The car was impounded and the man was transported to the home he shares with his mother and grandmother.
Wed., Feb. 21 Large quantities of frozen foods were stolen from a locked delivery truck during the night after thieves used a crowbar to gain access to the vehicle. The business owner said she believed the responsible person used a truck or a van, given the quantity of food missing, but value of the loss could not be determined until an inventory was complete.
Sun. Feb. 25 Deputies responding to a call discovered a Springfield Township mother carrying her 3-year-old son down the street after an argument in which her husband began throwing things about the home and accused her of being unfaithful.
A 37-year-old Springfield Township woman was involuntarily committed to Common Ground Sanctuary after attempting to help herself and threatening to harm anyone who prevented her from doing so.

Wed. Feb. 7 A 60-year-old Independence Township man called police reporting that two males driving a black Hummer H3 robbed him at gunpoint while he sat in his vehicle. According to the police report, the bandits made off with a Rolex watch valued at $37,000, as well as two rings with a combined value of $8,500, and $354 in cash. The men didn’t ask for his wallet, which contained $3,000 in cash, plus several credit cards, he said. Police secured the subdivision and requested traffic and air surveillance, as well as assistance from Brandon and Springfield deputies, but the vehicle was not spotted.
Thurs., Feb. 8 The owner of a gas station on Ortonville Road near I-75 called police after a woman drove off without paying for her fuel, although he did not believe the act was intentional. After receiving a message from police, the woman returned to pay for the gas.
A 35-year old Independence Township woman was involuntarily committed after overdosing on several types of medication. The woman, who is in divorce proceedings, told deputies she took the pills with the intent to harm herself.
Fri., Feb. 9 Deputies discovered a baggie of marijuana with a $450 street value after pulling over a 22-year-old Independence Township man near Dixie Highway and Maybee Road. The man, who also had drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, was issued an appearance citation.
Deputies are seeking an arrest warrant for a 45-year-old Orion woman who was in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia when she was pulled over for swerving and driving well below the posted speed limit near Waldon Road and Clintonville Road.
Sat., Feb. 10 Deputies were dispatched to assist the fire department after the neighbor of an abandoned condo called to report the sound of running water coming from the unit. After a forced entrance, it was discovered that pipes inside the house had burst.
Sun., Feb. 11 A driver who was rear-ended by a 22-year-old female near Oakhurst and Waldon roads called police as the woman fled the scene of the accident.
Several students attending a dance at Clarkston High School were issued an appearance citation after it was discovered they were intoxicated.
A 33-year-old Royal Oak man and a 20-year-old Detroit man were both arrested and jailed on charges of possessing stolen property, possessing burglary tools and marijuana uses and possession after deputies conducting a routine traffic stop discovered the men carrying illegal merchandise. Both men also had warrants out of separate courts.
Mon., Feb. 12 Deputies were dispatched to Clarkston High School after a school administrator found a 17-year-old student in possession of marijuana. The drugs were confiscated, and the youth was issued an appearance citation and turned over to his mother.
The plant manager of a business in the 4900 block of White Lake Road called police after arriving at work to discover that someone had used a shovel to break out a window and gain entry to the building. A welder valued at $1,400 was missing.
An Independence Township man called police after discovering that someone rifled through the contents of his unlocked car overnight, making off with $20 in loose change.
An unknown person took a cell phone and loose change from an unlocked car in the 3300 block of Sheringham over night.
A man pulled over for a routine traffic stop was arrested and jailed on a valid Friend of the Court warrant. The man was also in possession of a Waterford Township police badge stolen in from a vehicle parked outside a local restaurant in 1998.
An employee of a cellular phone company called police after discovering that a copper bar and copper wire valued at $300-$400 was stolen from a relay site after a lock was cut from surrounding fence.

Township
Mon., Feb. 12 A brother and sister filed a missing person report after hearing from the physician of another brother, a 51-year-old Davisburg man, that their sibling was ill and needed immediate treatment. The man was last heard from when he phoned from a jail in Colorado.
A 41-year old Davisburg man living in the 10000 block of Bigelow reported the license plate and hitch stolen from his truck overnight.
Wed., Feb. 14 A 54-year-old man living in the 9800 block of Dixie Highway was arrested and jailed after he became intoxicated and began destroying his home and shouting at his wife as he brandished several handguns. The man, apparently upset about being passed up for a promotion at work, discharged at least five rounds of ammunition inside the home. Police from Springfield and several surrounding areas arrived at the scene and were quickly able to gain control of the situation and take the man into custody. No one was injured during the incident.
Thurs., Feb. 15 A 14-year-old girl returned from school to discover someone had entered her home in the 17000 block of Diane and stole her grandmother’s laptop computer, as well as several components from another computer.
A man living in the 17000 block of Knopf called police after the owner of a home he was purchasing entered the house and removed deadbolts from the doors and also took two cats from the home. The owner told police the purchaser had defaulted on the purchase agreement, and the cats were locked in the home without food or water.
Fri., Feb. 16 A 32-year-old Davisburg woman filed a police report after attempting to pump fuel into her car and finding the gas tank filled with sugar. The woman suspected her former boyfriend of causing the damage.
Sun., Feb. 18 A 19-year-old Davisburg man reported that two other males broke into his home and stole liquor after bringing him home from a party when he become too intoxicated to drive.
Mon., Feb. 19 Two cases of pizza and 20-25 bags of chicken were reported stolen from the truck of a food delivery service in Springfield Township. Marks on the door of the truck indicated that someone had pried it open. Damages were estimated at $1,000.

Thurs., Feb. 1 An Independence Township woman in the process of divorce made a police report after she was assaulted when she went to her husband’s home to check on her step-son and the family pets. The man, however, stated that his wife came over to take his belongings without permission.
Fri., Feb. 2 A 19-year old Independence Township woman called police after she was assaulted in an incident concerning her 2-year-old nephew, whom she believed was being abused by the new girlfriend of the boy’s father. When confronted, the new girlfriend jumped from a moving vehicle and attacked the woman.
Sat., Feb. 3 Deputies were called to assist fire personnel after a 34-year-old Lake Orion man fell from his snowboard at a local ski resort and suffered injuries to his head, neck and lower back.
During a separate incident, a 17-year-old Independence Township youth was hospitalized after he was knocked unconscious in a fall from his snowboard.
A homeowner in the 5500 block of Larkin Lane reported that his garage entry door had been broken into and a 2006 Honda motorcycle stolen while he was away. The bike is valued at about $7,000.
Sun., Feb. 4 An Independence Township couple called police after a homeless employee they allowed to stay in their home over the weekend took the keys and drove off in the family van. He later returned, and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawfully driving away an automobile.
Mon., Feb 5 Deputies filed a petition with juvenile court after a 16-year-old Bloomfield Hills youth became verbally abusive with the manager of a local ski resort after he discovered the boy was skiing with a counterfeit season snow pass.
Tues., Feb. 6 The owner of a building on Washington Street in the Village of Clarkston called police after receiving an open door alert from his alarm company around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, the man discovered the door to the basement and the furnace room open, with pry marks. Nothing seemed out of place, and the owner was not immediately able to identify anything missing.
A 17-year-old Independence Township man who said he ‘wanted a buzz? was issued an appearance citation after he was caught attempting to steal two bottles of cough medicine from a grocery store on Sashabaw and Waldon Road.
An Oakland County Sheriff’s patrol car was damaged slightly when it went off the track while in neutral at a car wash on Dixie Highway.
Deputies were seeking a warrant on domestic violence charges against a 49-year-old Independence Township father after arriving on the scene of a call to find the man’s 15-year-old son with a swollen and bleeding face.
Wed., Feb. 7 A 23-year old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed when deputies found him in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a violation of his probation terms.
The owner of a business on Sashabaw reported that someone cleanly cut several parts from the exhaust system of a company vehicle overnight.
An Independence Township man reported receiving a notice from a collection agency stating he owed $369.95 for a cellular phone he never owned. The address listed on the fraudulent account was from a home he lived in five years ago.
An Independence Township man called police after discovering the rear window of his car smashed out and a stereo valued at $1,200 missing from the dashboard.

Tues., Jan 30 A business owner on Dixie Highway reported two snowmobiles, a riding lawn tractor and a covered trailer stolen from a padlocked, fenced area behind the building during the night.
Tues., Feb. 6 Remnants of a Polaris Indy snowmobile were found cut in small pieces with a powerful saw and dumped on the side of the road. The engine, transmission, belt, skis and VIN were missing.
A 50-year-old Springfield Township man was arrested and jailed on charges of assault and battery after he became highly intoxicated and assaulted his 47-year-old wife in their home in the 10000 block of Gibbs.
A neighbor called police to report that a young man living in the home next door was repeatedly firing a gun from the backyard. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a bait pile and motion sensor in the yard.
Wed., Feb. 7 A deputy on patrol in Springfield Township found a small plastic baggie containing a bracelet of polished stones and beads. The jewelry was thought to have some value.
A 48-year-old woman reported receiving harassing phone calls in which a 12-year-old schoolmate of the woman’s daughter either made ‘demon voices? or hung up when she answered. The girl apologized and promised to stop when confronted by deputies.
Sat., Feb 10 An 18-year-old man was arrested and jailed on charges of domestic assault after becoming intoxicated and assaulting the father of his girlfriend in the home where all three reside.

Sun., Jan 28 A homeowner in the 9000 block of Sashabaw called to report that someone had driven a vehicle over the front lawn during the night, causing damage to the grass, shrubs and landscaping rocks. An unattended car with a damaged rim, flat tire, front end damage and green pieces of shrub sticking out of the front grill was discovered close by.
Mon., Jan. 29 Deputies were dispatched to a pharmacy on Dixie Highway after getting a report of a 38-year-old Holly man attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription for pain medication. The report was forwarded to the detective bureau for review.
A homeowner in the 6400 block of Southhampton called to report that someone had driven over his lawn, damaging landscaping and shrubbery. The man said the incident has reoccurred several times.
Wed., Jan 31 A 48-year-old Davisburg woman was arrested and jailed on charges of driving while intoxicated after she nearly sideswiped a sheriff’s patrol car while driving north on Dixie Highway near Big Lake Road. The woman had a PBT of .131 percent. The legal limit is .08 percent.
A 47-year-old White Lake man was arrested and jailed on charges of fleeing and eluding police, and driving with an expired license after he drove off when officers approached his car to check on a call of a suspicious vehicle. The man later said he drove off because he was scared.
Thurs., Feb 1 A 31-year old Independence Township man pulled over near Maybee Road and Williamston was arrested and jailed on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. It was his second offense.
A homeowner living near Durham and Oakhill called to report the overnight destruction of an outdoor spotlight. The property had been damaged in the past, she said.
Deputies were dispatched after a 26-year-old Independence Township woman called to report finding a small baggie containing marijuana in the parking lot of her apartment building.
A 44-year-old Goodrich man filed a police report after a someone driving a pick-up truck behind him on M-15 near Cranberry Lake Road passed in an unsafe manner, pulled in front, flipped his middle finger, then held a pistol up in the rear cab window. The man felt the other, who continued to drive erratically, was trying to intimidate him, and wrote down the license plate number. The pick-up was registered to a 28-year-old man also from Goodrich.

Sat., Jan. 27 A woman called to report that she believes her son has been entering her residence without permission by forcing open a locked window to take clothing, food and cigarettes. Recently, she discovered a guitar, three swords and a Nintendo Playstation missing, as well.
Sun., Jan. 28 Someone entered an abandoned building on a recently purchased property and tore copper pipe and wire from the basement walls. Aluminum siding and chain link fence were also stolen from the building’s exterior.
Mon., Jan. 29 A 17-year-old female and her mother called to report that the girl had received approximately 60 harassing phone calls from a former boyfriend in one day.
Fearing identity theft, a Springfield Township woman reported that she had received letters from a collection agency stating that she owed money to a company she had never done business with.

Thurs., Jan. 11 A 27-year-old Independence Township woman called to report that 8 tires on two of her family’s vehicles had been cut in the parking lot of her apartment building on 3 different occasions.

Fri., Jan. 12 The parents of a 14-year old Rochester Hills male reported that the boy’s Forum snowboard had been stolen from a local ski resort. The board was black with a red skull on it.
Sun., Jan. 14 The owner of a rented mobile home in the 100 block of S. River reported that recently evicted tenants had left the unit with 5 broken windows, missing doors, light fixtures ripped from the ceiling and graffiti spray-painted on the walls.
An Independence Township woman reported that a radio and 15 music cds were stolen from her unlocked vehicle overnight.
Amplifiers, subwoofers and a toolbox were stolen from a vehicle parked in front of the owner’s apartment overnight.
Tues., Jan 16 Deputies arrested a 20-year-old wanted felon after discovering him trying to hide in a suspicious vehicle they were investigating after a call about a home invasion in progress on the 7000 block of Snow Apple Drive.
Mon., Jan 15 A 61-year-old male reported that a large sedan had driven by his house and slowed long enough to place firecrackers, which shortly exploded, inside his mailbox. Two days later the same car drove up and placed a homemade bomb inside the box. Deputies disarmed and disposed of the device.
Thurs., Jan 18 An Independence Township woman reported that while vacationing in Austrailia, her husband attempted to use his credit card and was denied, then informed of fraudulent charges on the card, and that his social security number and checking account number had also been used illegally.
The son of a 68-year old Independence Township man called police after he found his father deceased of natural causes in his home on the 7000 block of Elderwood.
A 14-year-old male reported the loss of a yellow Rome Artifact snowboard which fell from a pickup truck on the way to a local ski resort.
Fri., Jan 19 An 18-year-old man was issued an appearance citation for larceny in a building, disorderly conduct and consumption of alcohol buy a person under 21 after he was cauyght by employees while trying to steal alcohol from a grocery store near Sashabaw and Waldon Road.
A 13-year-old male reported that an unknown person had stolen his black and gray Ride snowboard valued at $500 after he went inside a local ski resort for a snack.
Sat., Jan 20 A purse, credit cards jewelry, cash and a CD player were stolen from the owner’s vehicle in the 7000 block of Scenic Ridge.
Deputies were advised of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Sunnydale and Laurelton after homeowners in the area discovered cash and tools missing from their vehicle. Other nearby automobiles also showed signs of larceny.
Sun., Jan. 21 A laptop computer, satellite radio, book bag, driver’s license and debit card were stolen from the owner’s car, which was parked in front of his Independence Township workplace.

A thief removed the radio and left wires dangling after smashing out the passenger window of a car parked at an apartment building.
Thurs., Dec. 29 Two 20-year-old Auburn Hills men were banned from a local ski resort for the remaining season after trying to split a lift ticket and becoming disorderly after a confrontation by employees.
Fri., Dec. 30 An elderly woman with a form of dementia was committed to the hospital for her own safety after deputies responded to reports of a domestic incident between the woman and her husband.
Four separate homeowners in the area of Huron Parkway and Waldon Center Drive reported that an unknown person or persons damaged garage doors over night. All of the doors had pry marks indicating attempted entry.
Sat., Dec 31 A man in the process of moving from a home in the 6400 block of Deer Ridge called police after discovering that a large number of tools had been stolen from the garage.
A 52-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault with intent to do great bodily harm after he repeatedly used a backhand swing to punch his 43-year-old female neighbor in the face. The incident occurred while the man, who is described in police reports as 6-foot, 394 lbs and bald, was driving the woman to see her boyfriend in the Oakland County Jail.
Mon., Jan. 1 A 39-year-old woman reported a missing hubcap and loose lug nuts after investigating strange sounds coming from her vehicle as she drove to work.
A resident in an Independence Township apartment building called police to report that a man carrying a gun and wearing a red face mask was knocking on his door. The man was gone when deputies arrived just two minutes later.
A 27-year-old man called police to report hearing his car alarm go off in the early morning hours and discovering that an unknown person had thrown a brick through his windshield.
A woman called police to report that her husband, who had been convicted of domestic violence against her, had entered the family home while she was away and removed several guns, antique swords and power tools. The woman said she is afraid of her husband and concerned that he has the guns.
Tues., Jan. 2 After a car was stolen from owner’s driveway in the 5200 block of Glenwood Creek, the owner noticed that the vehicle’s keys and a wedding ring were missing from inside the house. It is believed that an unknown person entered the home during the night.
Wed., Jan. 3 A 27-year-old man was arrested and jailed after deputies pulled him over for an expired plate and discovered the man had a valid Friend of the Court warrant.
The foreman of a construction company reported discovering that the chain on the front gate of a storage yard had been cut over the holiday weekend. A roll of insulated wire valued at $6,000 was missing. The roll weighed approximately 1,200 pounds.
A woman called police after discovering that her car, which she’d started and left running and unlocked in her driveway in the 4700 block of Independence Drive, had been stolen. The woman and her mother later located the car along the side of the road on Drayton Rd., between Maybee Rd. and Pelton Rd.
Fri., Jan 5 An Independence Township couple reported a case of identity theft after receiving unsolicited furniture store credit cards in the mail and discovering that airline tickets in the same name had been purchased on their credit card.
Sat., Jan 6 A19-year-old man suffered from significant injuries to his face and hands after he was assaulted in his garage by 3 other males. The man knew the assailants and believes the incident began over an incident with an ex-girlfriend the previous evening.
A 17-year-old female called police to report that her purse was stolen and her phone used to send inappropriate text messages after she inadvertently left the bag in the restroom at an Independence Township restaurant.
A 55-year-old Independence Township woman was involuntarily committed after repeated threats to harm herself.
Deputies drove to Lapeer County to pick up a North Branch man who was arrested on a valid Friend of the Court warrant out of Oakland County.
A 58-year-old step-grandmother was charged with child neglect after police investigated reports that the woman slapped and scratched a 16-year-old girl, then forced the girl to sleep in the garage for several hours. The girl is a ward of the state and was staying with the woman temporarily while a maternal child abuse case is pending.
Sun., Jan 7 A teenage girl told deputies her mother hit her in the head with a rolling pin because the girl was spending too much time on the computer in her bedroom.The mother was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Sun., Dec. 17 An employee at a video store on Dixie Highway called police after a man walked up to the counter, then ran from the store with an unspecified number of DVDs.
Mon., Dec. 18 Deputies were summoned after the passenger window was smashed and the stereo stolen from the dash of a vehicle parked at the owner’s apartment off Andersonville Road.
An Independence Township man called police after returning home to discover that the side entry door of his home had been kicked in and a game system, games, a .22 hunting rifle and a box containing about $300 in loose change had been stolen.
A 39-year-old Independence Township man called police after receiving emails from a former classmate that said ‘scuzball? and ‘you treated me like?’in high school, jerk.? Both men graduated from Waterford Mott High School in 1985.
A 40-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed after he reportedly pushed, pinched and harassed his wife when she returned home from work, smashing a plate of cookies she’d baked earlier on the floor. The couple’s 18-year-old son intervened on the woman’s behalf.
Tues., Dec. 19 an Independence Township business reported losses of $1,800 after a nighttime intruder made off with computers, alcohol, cash, and other items. There was no sign of forced entry.
Car stereo equipment was stolen from a vehicle near Parview and Andersonville Road. The wires were unplugged and unscrewed, rather than ripped out. The owner believes he locked his car, but there were no signs of forced entry.
Thurs., Dec. 21 A purse was stolen after the window of a vehicle parked at an Independence Township business was smashed. The owner of the vehicle reported getting word that stolen credit cards had immediately been used for purchases totaling nearly $1,200.
The manager of an Independence Township group home reported that while the building was empty, someone entered the house and took notebooks containing resident’s personal information and spending money, as well as a box containing the home’s petty cash. No signs of forced entry were evident.
Fri., Dec. 22 Deputies were dispatched to assist the Independence Township Fire Department when a 23-year-old man arrived at an area medical facility admitting that he took numerous pills in an attempt to commit suicide.
An Independence Township woman reported that her 15-year-old daughter ran away after an earlier argument in which the woman confronted her for flicking cigarette butts in the backyard.
Sat., Dec. 23 Police were summoned after a fight broke out in a restaurant on Dixie Highway in Independence Township. One man was hit by a man he claimed not to know, and suffered a laceration to his chin requiring eight stitches.
A woman attempting to use her debit card was declined and discovered that her checkbook had been stolen and a check for $700 dollars had been fraudulently written from her account.
Sun., Dec. 24 An Independence Township woman in the midst of divorce proceedings called police to request a check on the welfare of her 17-year-old daughter, saying her intoxicated, soon to be ex-husband was coercing the girl into driving him around to look for her.
Mon., Dec. 25 Deputies were dispatched to the home of an Independence Township woman after her niece called to request a welfare check, saying her aunt, who’d threatened suicide in the past, seemed intoxicated and despondent on the phone. The woman appeared safe, but would not let deputies is the home.
An off duty officer called in a loud argument between a Waterford man and his adult son, who had a warrant out of the Independence Township substation for failure to appear for probation violation. Deputies intervened in the argument and transported the man to the Oakland County Jail.
Tues., Dec. 26 An Independence Township man reported that he woke to find three nativity statues’two kings and a baby Jesus’on his front lawn, and was unable to locate the owner after a walk through the neighborhood to look for a nativity scene with missing pieces. Another man later reported the theft and was able to take all three statues home.
An Independence Township woman called police after her 32-year-old son physically pushed her out the front entry of her home and locked the door. She said her son had been drinking all day and became angry and combative when she refused to let him drive her car. The man has been living in the home with his mother for approximately one year.
Wed., Dec. 27 Deputies responded to a call from an Independence Township man who said his 31-year-old wife was suicidal and had overdosed in the past. The woman appeared lethargic and admitted to taking a number of pills. She was put in soft restraints and taken to the hospital after refusing to go voluntarily.

Dec. 14 Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call to assist Michigan State Police with a combative female whom they were attempting to take to the hospital for a mandatory blood draw. The woman continuously tried to kick and bite officers and hospital staff, but was eventually brought under control with stuns and wrist lock techniques.
Thurs. Dec. 14 A 22-year old Independence Township man was arrested and jailed for felonious assault after pulling out a knife in hopes that his father would leave him alone. The younger man had failed a test at school and reported that his father followed him around the home yelling about the matter.
Thurs. Dec. 14 An employee at an Ortonville Road business called police after discovering that her purse, which she had placed on the floor behind the counter, had been stolen at some point in the day.
Fri., Dec. 15 Independence Township man reported receiving notification that he had an unpaid balance of $277 from a company called Nexum II Financial. The man said that although he’d never heard of the company, someone had set up an account using his personal information.
Fri., Dec. 15 A Clarkston woman who was unable to locate several pieces of jewelry filed a report after learning that the woman who cleaned her home had admitted to stealing jewelry from other homes. After consulting with deputies, the woman learned that some of her jewelry could be traced to a pawn shop, where she was able to purchase it back for $33.
Fri., Dec. 15 Deputies who stopped a woman for improper plates discovered that the car was also unregistered and uninsured and advised the woman to leave the car, which she’d purchased for $250 about 3 weeks prior, in the parking lot until she could drive it legally. The woman called police several days later when she returned to the spot she’d left the car and discovered it gone.
Sat., Dec. 16 An Independence Township woman reported recieving a suspicious call about a camper she and her husband had listed for sale on the Internet. She said the caller claimed to be from Canada and said he bought many vehicles, then came across the border in a semi truck to pick them all up at the same time. The camper’s asking price was $3,000, but the man said he would send $7,500 per company policy, and asked that the couple immediately return the remaining $4,500 via Western Union. The check, drafted from Hibernia, a Canadian bank, arrived and was confirmed fraudulent.
Sun., Dec. 17 Police were called to an Independence Township apartment complex after a fight broke out between a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman, who each claimed the man they were fighting over was her boyfriend, and that the other was the ex-girlfriend.

Springfield Township
Fri., Dec. 8 A 22-year old man living in Waterford was arrested in Springfield Township after providing fraudulent resident alien identification when deputies pulled him over for a license plate violation. The man was turned over to immigration officials when he was discovered to be an illegal Mexican National.
Sat., Dec. 9 A Springfield Township man called police after a fight ensued when he discovered a syringe in the purse belonging to his wife, who is a known heroin user
Sun., Dec. 10 A Springfield Township woman was arrested and jailed for domestic assault after pushing her husband from behind as he walked away during an argument. The man fell into the wall and cut his head, requiring ten stitches.
Tues., Dec. 12 An automobile dealership on Dixie Highway reported that sometime during the night, the headlights, front grill, radiator and A/C condenser had been removed from an SUV parked inside a fenced, locked area.
Wed., Dec. 13 A highly intoxicated Springfield Township man was arrested and jailed on charges of attempted arson after he reportedly poured gasoline around the perimeter of his parent’s home and stood outside screaming and crying with a lighter in hand.

Fri., Dec. 15 Deputies responded to the intersection of Dixie Highway and White Lake Road for an accident involving a Dodge Neon car and a semi truck. The driver of the Neon, a 17-year-old Commerce resident, died at the scene. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The preliminary investigation points toward the driver of the Neon pulling out in front of the semi-truck after failing to stop for a flashing red light. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
Tues., Dec. 19 A Clarkston man reported that his house was egged. The incident is under investigation.
Tues., Dec. 19 A Clarkston man called police to report an injured deer at his house. The responding deputy shot the animal with his duty pistol. The resident was issued a DNR kill permit for the deer.
Tues., Dec. 19 A Clarkston man reported a stolen a car stereo and speakers.
Tues., Dec. 19 An Independence Township man reported a stolen a flashlight and garage-door opener from his vehicle. The door was not locked.
Tues., Dec. 19 Sheriff’s deputies responded to a breaking and entering call at a restaurant on Sashabaw. The store manager reported that $1,000 in computer equipment and liquor was stolen. Doors were reportedly locked and unforced. The investigation is continuing.
Thurs., Dec. 21 An Ortonville woman at an Independence Township sports club reported that a window on her vehicle was broken and her purse stolen. She reported her credit card stolen. Sheriff’s deputies investigated, tracking illegal purchases to a video store and gas station. Officers are examining video surveillance tapes taken of the suspect.
Thurs., Dec. 21 Officers responded to a report of a woman screaming. A Clarkston woman was having an argument with her daughter.

Fri., Dec. 1 A laptop computer, wallet, credit cards and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle after the owner left the car in the parking lot of a business on Dixie Highway in Independence Township.
Wed., Dec. 6 Police were called after an Independence Township man returned home to find that an unknown person had attempted to enter his home through an overhead garage door that had been kicked out. Nothing was missing from the home, and it was determined that the family dog may have scared off the intruder.
Wed., Dec. 6 Police were called to a retail store near Dixie Highway and White Lake Road when employees noticed that a man who had been carrying an electric toothbrush valued at about $100 left the store with a bulge under his coat.
Thurs., Dec. 7 An Independence Township woman called police after returning home to discover a computer, camera, wrapped Christmas presents and other items had been stolen from her residence. A side door was unlocked with no sign of forced entry, but a sound system and speakers were missing from the garage, which had been pried open.
Thurs., Dec. 7 An Independence Township woman filed a harassment report over a former boyfriend who has sent threatening and inappropriate emails and text messages up to eight times a day for the past several months.
Fri., Dec. 8 Police filed a report of suspected child abuse/neglect with the Michigan Family Independence Agency after the 38-year-old mother of a 3-year-old boy resisted arrest and was eventually jailed when police arrived to intervene in a domestic dispute. The woman had been drinking, and was yelling obscenities at her mother and threatening physical violence. Police reported that the woman was unstable, and they boy, who’d witnessed his mother’s behavior, was living in unsafe conditions. The woman had a warrant for assault and battery in March.
Fri., Dec. 8 Police were called after a driver returned to his car to discover that thieves had smashed out a window with a large rock, which was left on the front seat as thieves mad off with a briefcase and laptop computer.
Sat., Dec. 9 An Independence Township woman called police after a down-on-his luck former boyfriend whom she’d allowed to stay with her became jealous and violent over a new boyfriend. The man was arrested and jailed after police discovered he had warrants out of two cities.

Mon., Dec. 11 An Independence Township man with two Friend of the Court warrants was arrested and jailed after an anonymous resident tipped police to his whereabouts.

Mon., Nov. 27 A Sashabaw Road business was robbed over the Thanksgiving weekend, reported the owner, and thieves made off with a 2001 yellow GMC cube truck along with several heating and air conditioning units, and various tools.
Mon., Nov. 27 The driver’s door window was smashed from a vehicle parked in the owner’s driveway in the block of Parkwood near Maybee and thieves made off with speakers, subwoofers and an amplifier.
Tues., Nov. 28 The passenger window was smashed out of a vehicle in the 6900 block of Oakhurst and thieves made off with a ring of vending machine keys.
Tues., Nov. 28 The passenger window of a vehicle parked at the owner’s home on Westchester Court near Oakhurst was smashed and thieves made off with a purse containing about $600 in cash after it was left sitting on the front seat of the car overnight.
Tues., Nov 28 Thieves smashed the passenger window out of a vehicle in the 4600 block of Waturbury Drive and made off with the owner’s coat and purse, which contained $100 in cash as well as credit cards and personal papers.
Tues., Nov 28 A box containing speakers and an amplifier were stolen from the back of a vehicle after it was left unlocked overnight in the homeowner’s driveway in the 9500 block of Susin. The thief also made off with a pair of shoes.

Tues., Nov 28 A family returned from vacation to discover that thieves had cut the screen and opened a window to gain access, then made off with a plasma TV that was to be a Christmas gift, along with credit cards, savings bonds and several thousand dollars in jewelry.
Wed., Nov 29 An Independence Township woman called police after hearing gunshots and ascertaining that poachers had shot a deer in front of her house on Shappie Road, but drove off in a van after she went out to see what happened. They returned and tried to haul off the doe when the woman went back inside to call police. The DNR is investigating.
Fri., Dec. 1 An Independence Township couple called police after a man phoned and told them they’d won $1.5 million, but would have to write him a check for $582 before receiving the funds.
Sat., Dec. 2 Police responded to the scene of a car fire after a Hummer parked at an Independence Township residence erupted in flames originating under the reflector of the right rear passenger door. Cause was unknown.
Sat., Dec. 2 A 21-year-old Lansing man was arrested and jailed after police pulled him over for a seatbelt violation near Sashabaw and Waldon Road and discovered brass knuckles, burglar tools, and open intoxicants in his vehicle.
Sun., Dec. 3 An Independence Township man called police after waking to find his former girlfriend attempting to break through the glass door of his living room with a broom handle. The woman had already shattered the outer pane.
Mon., Dec. 4 A woman living in an apartment near Sashabaw and Willow Park Road called police after stepping out of the shower and spotting a man looking in her window, which he then began banging on. He was a white male, 5?7, mid-twenties.

Independence Township
Mon., Nov. 20 An Independence Township man called police after
discoverineg that someone had attempted to enter his home through a
rear sliding glass door during the night. A wooden stick prevented the
door from opening.
Mon., Nov. 20 An Independence Township resident reported that his
vehicle’s passenger window had been smashed out, and the door dented
and scratched during the night. Nothing was missing from the car.
Tues., Nov. 21 An Independence Township business owner locked a
customer in a store near Sashabaw and Waldon Road until police arrived, claiming the man refused to pay for the coffee he’d poured. The man told police he became angry after learning that the coffee he thought was worth about $1.00 would actually set him back $1.59. He
eventually paid for the coffee, and police advised the business owner to post coffee prices and refrain from locking future customers in the store.
Tues., Nov. 21 A woman who arranged to have a teenage neighbor care
for her dogs filed a police report after discovering diamond earrings missing after the girl had been inside the home alone. A surveillance video also showed the teen’s mother using a credit card stolen from the same home at a local retailer.
Wed., Nov. 22 A 32 year-old Independence Township man was arrested for driving with a suspended license and ignoring a sheriff’s deputy who was attempting to make a traffic stop after noticing the vehicle had a
headlight out.
Wed., Nov. 22 Thieves smashed the left passenger window of a vehicle
parked outside the owner’s home on Berry Pointe near M-15 and snatched
an iPod, iPod adapter and a debit card from the front seat.
Wed., Nov. 22 Police searching the area for signs of vehicle larceny
spotted a car near Berry Pointe and Staghorn Trail with the left rear
window shattered. The owner was notified and discovered that he’d been
robbed of an iPod, iPod adapter and a wallet containing four credit
cards.
Wed., Nov. 22 Thieves filched an iPod, iPod adapter and a wallet from
a vehicle parked in the owner’s driveway near Park Valley Drive and M-15 after using a pry tool between the front driver’s window and the doorframe to shatter the glass.
Wed., Nov. 22 A resident in the 6600 block of Park Valley Drive
reported discovering the rear passenger window smashed out of his
vehicle and a handheld GPS unit stolen from the front seat. Police documented two sets of footprints around the car.
Wed., Nov. 22 Thieves ran off with a set of speakers and an amplifier
after smashing out the back window of a car parked outside the owner’s
home in the 6600 block Park Valley Drive.
Wed., Nov. 22 A 77 year-old man reported returning home to discover a neighbor standing on his porch. When he inquired about her intentions, the woman said she wondered if he wanted to see her puppies, but the man later discovered pry marks on his front door.
Sat., Nov. 25 Thieves used a pry tool to shatter the window in a vehicle parked at an Independence Township business near White Lake Road and Dixie Highway, then proceeded to steal the owner’s personal belongings from the car.
Sat., Nov. 25 An Independence Township man reported that he returned
from vacation to discover that someone had stolen a safe containing a gun and other valuable items from his bedroom. No signs of forced entry were discovered, as the man’s house-sitting friend left the
house unlocked while he was out.
Sat., Nov. 25 A Waterford man was arrested and jailed for home invasion and domestic assault after forcing his way into the Clarkston apartment of his former girlfriend and attacking the woman, who
claimed to have a personal protection order against the man.
Sun., Nov. 26 Patrolling deputies discovered the rear window smashed
out of a vehicle in the 4700 block of Curtis Lane. Speakers and an amplifier were stolen from the vehicle, the owner said.

Springfield Township
Wed., Nov 22 The Springfield Township Fire Department responded to an emergency call after a propane heater caught fire in the garage of a
home on Rattalee Lake Road and exploded. No injuries were reported. Groveland Fire, North Oakland Fire Authority and Oakland County Fire
Investigators were on site to provide assistance.
Sat., Nov 25 A Springfield Township man was arrested for domestic violence kicked and broke the window of an Oakland County Sheriff’s vehicle
after being placed in the backseat by deputies. The deputies deployed
a taser to restrain the subject.

Thurs., Nov. 16 A 90-year-old Independence Township woman and her husband, and Alzheimer’s patient, filed a police report stating that their son had used both parent’s identification and social security numbers to illegally open several credit card accounts.
Thurs., Nov. 16 Police received a tip on the whereabouts of a 33-year-man in default on child support payments, and arrested the man, whom they located crouching in the closet of a friend’s home.
Fri., Nov. 17 A Waterford resident was arrested and jailed after causing an automobile accident near the corner of Citation Drive and M-15. The 46-year-old woman was intoxicated and claimed she didn’t see the car she hit.
Sun., Nov. 19 An employee at a cigarette retailer on Dixie Highway reported that $200 in cash, along with 10 cartons of cigarettes and other merchandise, were stolen when someone smashed out the store’s front window.
Sun., Nov. 19 Police were called to three separate homes when residents reported that an unknown person had caused damage by driving a car across neighborhood lawns during the night.

Fri., Nov. 3 After receiving a complaint about an extra charge of $267.85 billed to a customer’s credit card, an assets protection associate from an Independence Township grocery store reported discovering evidence that two employees, twin sisters, had stolen the credit card number from a customer and used it to illegally obtain funds from the store.
Sat., Nov. 4 A 64-year-old Clarkston man was issued an appearance citation for assault and battery after punching and kicking a 42-year-old man during a parking dispute in the parking lot of a restaurant near Dixie Highway and Maybee Road.
Mon., Nov. 6 A driver’s license and credit card were reported missing from inside a purse left on the front seat of an Independence Township woman’s car overnight. By the time it was reported stolen, the card had already been used three times.
Tues., Nov. 7 An Independence Township man reported that while banking online he noticed that numerous fraudulent checks had been written from his account for large sums of money. He later discovered a book of checks missing from his home.
Wed., Nov. 8 The vice president of an Independence Township construction company reported stolen machinery after a colleague and former employee borrowed a piece of excavating equipment then denied knowledge of the machine’s whereabouts.

Sat., Nov 11 A Clarkston man who called police when he heard the sound of shattering glass discovered that the windshield of his vehicle had been shattered in his driveway.
Sat., Nov. 11 An Independence Township woman reported numerous unauthotrized purchases made to her credit card from stores in the Livonia area.
Sat., Nov. 11 Police were called to assist the Independence Township fire department who were alerted to a house fire after the owner notice a popping noise and a putrid odor coming from the laundry room and discovered that the wall behind the dryer was on fire.
Sun., Nov. 12 An Independence Township homeowner reported that jewelry valued at about $2,500 was missing from her home after workmen had spent the week remodeling parts of the house.
Sun., Nov. 12 Police were dispatched to a business on Dixie Highway after a motion detector was triggered during the night. Deputies discovered a rear window smashed and $700 in cash missing from a drawer.
Sun., Nov. 12 A satellite radio, several CDs and a DVD player with two screens was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight.
Wed., Nov. 1 The owner of a Davisburg construction company reported that thieves made off with lawn maintenance equipment after cutting padlocks on a transport trailer during the night.

Township
Mon., Nov. 6 Employees reported that a 1985 Oldsmobile was stolen from a used car dealership on Dixie Highway in Springfield Township.
Mon., Nov. 6 Police responded to a call from a concerned neighbor who detected the strong smell of natural gas coming from a vacant HUD home.
Fri., Nov 10. A Springfield Township man called police after returning home to find several guns and a box of ammunition missing from his ransacked apartment. Other valuables were left untouched.

Independence Township
Tues., Oct 31 A Clarkston woman filed a police report after discovering that a necklace valued at $1,400 was missing from her home following a viewing by prospective buyers.
A 26-year old male was arrested in Independence Township after a motorist reported that a car traveling northbound on I-75 near Sashabaw had been swerving, then stopped in the middle of the expressway. Officers arrived to find the car on the median and a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle, where the man and his passenger were passed out in the front seat.
Police were called after a business owner discovered that thieves had climbed a rear fence during the night and made off with 400 pounds of copper wire that had been stored on a truck.
Wed., Nov. 1 A White Lake woman driving southbound on White Lake Road in Independence Township reported that she heard a loud noise as her right rear passenger window smashed out. The woman was unsure whether someone had thrown an object or if she’d driven over debris in the road.
An Independence Township man made a police report after an online banking session led to his discovery that an unauthorized check in the amount of $513.78 had been written from his bank account by someone who obtained his routing and account numbers and printed a fraudulent check.
A Clarkston man called police to report a disturbance caused to his computer, television and telephone lines by a neighbor illegally ‘tapping into? his outside cable line. The man said the disturbance had damaged electronic equipment in the home.
A construction company reported about $10,000 in losses after a racecar-type trailer with a drop down rear/ramp set-up housing a large amount of tools and construction equipment was stolen from a construction site near Maybee and Clintonville Road in Independence Township.
A Clarkston woman reported threatening phone calls by a former employee of her husband, who said he knew where the couple and their children lived, and had parked outside on several occasions.
Thurs., Nov. 2 A 17-year old employee at an Independence Township business on Sashabaw Road reported inappropriate sexual advances made toward her by a male coworker.
Fri., Nov. 3 A man reported that his car, containing $500 cash, a passport and 200 music CDs, was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment at Maybee Road and Parkwood Blvd, sometime before 10 p.m. Police later informed the man that his car had been set on fire in Pontiac.
