Oxford Village Police say distracted diving was the cause of a May 15 accident on East St. that left a vehicle resting on its roof in the middle of the road.
According to the police report, a 42-year-old Oxford Village woman was heading west in her 2019 Ford EcoSport when “she reached for her cell phone” and struck a 2018 Ford EcoSport parked on the shoulder, off the roadway, just west of Division St.
The impact caused the driver’s EcoSport to roll over and come to rest on its roof. It sustained serious damage and had to be towed, according to the report.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was cited for careless driving.
