Scrap
On April 2, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 4300 block of Fir Street for a report of intimidation. The complainant owns a scrap business and was at the mobile home to help a friend when a man approached who was upset about scrapping in the area. The unknown man threatened the complainant while holding a screwdriver. The suspect was not located.
Warranted
On April 3, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3700 block of Elm Court for a death investigation, and a LEIN check found a person at the home who had a valid warrant for failure to appear out of the 71-1 District Court. The person was arrested and turned over to the Metamora Police.
Short (a) skirt
On April 4, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3600 block of Pin Oak for a larceny complaint. About 150 feet of white metal skirting was taken from a vacant mobile home.
For use, not sale
On April 4, a walk-in complaint was made at the Brandon substation for larceny. The complainant said he was the co-signer and co-owner of a 1997 Ford pickup truck, along with his son, who is in the Army and serving out of the country.
The complainant’s son and his girlfriend had been living in the 1600 block of State Park Road and she had permission to use the truck while he was deployed. The title to the vehicle was lost and the complainant requested a new one be sent to the State Park address.
He said his son’s girlfriend received the title, forged his and his son’s signatures and sold the vehicle for her own personal gain. The Blue Book value of the truck is $3,500.
Deja Vu
On April 5, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Hadley Road for a report of breaking and entering. The complainant said someone kicked in the door and a desktop computer was missing, as well as a cordless phone, costume jewelry, cd/record player, and medications. A rear sliding door jamb had damage from an attempt to get in, and a front side door was successfully kicked in. A similar incident occurred at the home about a year ago.
Fire
On April 7, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 3600 block of Hawthorne for an open 9-1-1 line. On the way, an update revealed the call had been for a fire that began with electrical heat tape under the mobile home and it was extinguished.
Swords and syringes
On April 7, a walk-in complaint was taken at the Brandon substation for a break-in that occurred at a home in the 200 block of Thornridge Trail. The complainant said the garage door was unlocked and the door from the garage to the house had been pried open. A 5-disc changer, two Marine swords, a Bose radio and insulin syringes were taken. The case is open.
Fraud
On April 8, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to the 5900 block of Oakhill Road for a report of fraud. The complainant said she and her husband had been contacted by a company that informed her that lines of credit had been opened in their names with DTE Energy, SBC Mobile, and AT&T. All three were trying to collect on debt.

Tues., May 1 A deputy spent several hours driving to various Independence Township group homes before locating the caregiver of a 36-year-old mentally handicapped male who wandered away from home. A caller reported a man who looked lost walking near Bitterbush and Reese roads.
Wed., May 2 A Clarkston High School sophomore reported someone took $260 from her purse, which was left unattended in an unlocked room while she performed in an April 27 concert.
A 61-year-old man living in the 7500 block of Green Haven called police after arriving home to find doors open and a safe missing.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges after slapping his 18-year-old daughter in the mouth.
Two brothers, ages 26 and 27, were arrested and transported separately to Oakland County Jail after an argument. The nitpicking and name-calling and turned into a physical altercation in their mother’s car as she drove one of the men to a drug test required by his probation. The squabble occurred in the parking lot of the Independence Township substation. One brother kicked the mirror off his mother’s car; the other complained his brand-new shirt was ripped.
Thurs., May 3 A 41-year-old man called police after his son threatened him with physical violence over a family matter.
Fri., May 4 A 28-year-old Auburn Hills man was arrested and jailed on a Friend of the Court warrant after he was pulled over on a traffic violation near Clarkston and North Eston roads.
A 65-year-old man living in the 5800 block of Deerwood Drive was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges after kicking his 56-year-old female companion. Police, concerned about the welfare of the woman’s disabled daughter, filed a report with the Family Independence Agency, citing garbage on the floors, bugs on the counter and the smell of urine in the home.
A representative from T-Mobile filed a report stating a generator valued at $20,000 was stolen from a cellular tower near Sashabaw and Waldon roads after a chain on the fence was cut.
Sat., May 5 An 18-year-old Davisburg man pulled over for a traffic violation in Independence Township was cited for possession of marijuana.
Sun., May 6 A homeowner in the 5600 block of Adderstone called police after an unknown person drove across his lawn overnight causing an estimated $1,000 in damage. Pieces of plastic gray and black auto trim were left at the scene.
The attendant at a gas station on Sashabaw Road called police after a man pumped $38.40 in gas and drove off without paying.
A resident in the 4900 block of Landcaster Hills called police after a 5-foot-tall wooden sculpture of a sailor in a blue coat turned up missing.
Mon., May 7 A 29-year-old man was arrested and jailed after an argument with his wife became physical. Police sent a report to the Family Independence agency after finding that the couple’s four children were in the home at the time of the altercation.
Deputies issued a warrant after a woman called police when her 23-year-old intoxicated husband began making derogatory remarks and hitting her after she arrived home from work.
Tues., May 8 Employees at a medical office on South Ortonville Road called police after arriving at work to find the rear door of the building pried open, and a drug cabinet inside ransacked. The employees told police they believed the person who entered the office was probably looking for narcotics, which are not kept inside. Nothing was missing.
Wed., May 9 A 53-year-old man living in the 6900 block of Tuson was arrested and jailed after an argument with his 41-year-old female companion became physical. Both had been drinking heavily.
A Clarkston High School student reported someone had stolen the license plate from his vehicle during the day.
Thurs., May 10 A 34-year-old man reported a Sirius Satellite Radio receiver stolen after the plastic windows in his Jeep were cut overnight.
A 22-year-old man reported a bowling bag, ball and shoes stolen out of his vehicle overnight. A wristwatch and bottle of cologne were also missing.
A 31-year-old man reported a Bluetooth earpiece missing after someone entered his vehicle overnight.
A 46-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested and jailed for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after employees of a fast food restaurant called police when the man’s inebriated state became obvious as he attempted to place an order in the drive-thru.
A 52-year-old Pontiac man was banned from an Independence Township medical office after he showed up with a severe headache and began to shout and swear when his demands to be seen immediately went unmet. Police informed the man he was no longer welcome in the office.
Springfield Township
Fri., May 4 A 38-year-old woman living in the 9300 Block of Rattalee Lake Road arrived home to find her front door damaged and a dresser in her bedroom ransacked. A box of costume jewelry was the only thing missing from the home.
Sat., May 5 An 18-year-old Davisburg man living in the 7000 block of Eagle was arrested and jailed on domestic assault charges after an argument with his father became physical.
Sun., May 6 Springfield deputies were dispatched to assist Michigan State Police with reports of a car fire on I-75 near East Holly Road. Upon arrival, it was discovered a car/deer accident had caused a vehicle to catch fire.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of 3400 Bird Road in Groveland Township to assist Michigan State Police with an injury accident.
Mon., May 7 A 41-year-old woman walked into the substation to make a report of a lost or stolen cell phone.
Tues., May 8 A 49-year-old woman living in the 9700 block of Norman Street called police after discovering three ‘no trespassing? signs missing from her property. The woman told deputies it was not the first time signs were stolen, and she suspected her neighbor of the deed.
Deputies were dispatched to assist on a medical call after a plow-equipped four-wheeler rolled over and landed on top of the 55-year-old man who was using it to move dirt. A neighbor heard the man yelling for help and was able to move the machine and call 911.
Springfield Township
Sun., Oct. 8 Police who were called to investigate damaged property at a Springfield Township golf course discovered 4-6 inch divots carved in the shape of a semi-circle on the green.
Tues, Oct. 23 A Holly woman reported that her wallet had been stolen from her purse, which she had placed on a shelf in an office at the Springfield Township organization where she works as a volunteer.
Sat, Oct.21 Officers impounded a vehicle that was driven to a yard and abandoned seconds before police could apprehend and question the driver about erratic driving. A bag of groceries was left on the front seat.
Fri., Oct. 21 Authorities suspected poaching when a deer carcass was discovered near Farley Road and Foster Road with the antlers removed. The animal appeared to be gutted, but not processed, and no deer kill tag was found on the scene.
Tues., Oct 24 A Springfield Township woman filed a police report after her 10-year-old daughter was harassed by an unknown male caller asking the girl questions about her name, age, grades and the school she attends. The man also made inappropriate sexual comments when the girl turned the phone over to her mother. Police retrieved a phone number from the family’s caller ID box, and are conducting an investigation.

Tues., Oct 24 A Waterford woman reported that a New York license plate had been yanked from the front of her car while she shopped at an Independence Township grocery store.
Tues., Oct 24 A Clarkston landscaping firm reported that construction equipment had been stolen from company property, and also said thieves dug three shrubs from the ground, but only managed to make off with one of the pilfered pines.
Tues., Oct 24 A Clarkston woman reported that a wallet containing a credit card and $200 in cash was plucked from the seat of her unlocked vehicle.
Thurs., Oct 26 A collection and payments representative from an Independence Township medical group called police after the father of a young patient called and harassed her with obscene language and threats of coming to the office.
Thurs., Oct 26 A woman living in the 5000 block of Fox Chase in Clarkston called police after returning home to discover that an intruder had pried open the garage door to gain entry to her home, going through clothing and jewelry boxes once inside. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home.
Fri., Oct 27 A Waterford Township man reported that someone claiming to be the assistant manager of an Independence Township bank called to tell him that a $15,000 loan had been denied. The man said he’d applied for no such loan.
Fri., Oct 27 An Independence Township man filed a missing person report when his 44 year-old son, who suffers from manic depression, left home and did not return.
Sat., Oct. 28 A female patient residing in an assisted living complex on Dixie Highway in Independence Township reported that a woman claiming to represent a credit card company called to verify an $800 credit purchase and proceeded to ask for the account number and an address, claiming she needed to stop by to verify the woman’s identity. The incident was determined to be fraudulent.
Sat., Oct. 28 A Clarkston man reported that thieves whisked a weed whacker from the patio behind his house while he and his wife were out of town for the weekend.
Sat., Oct. 28 A 22 year-old Holly man was arrested and jailed after police responding to a domestic assault call found the man’s girlfriend in the parking lot of her apartment building with red marks on her neck indicating that someone had attempted to choke her. The man admitted responsibility.
Sun., Oct 29 A CD/radio was stolen from a car left overnight in an open garage on the 6000 block of Almond Lane. The dash was also missing from the car.
Sun., Oct 29 Also in the 6000 block of Almond Lane, a man reported that the lock of his car had been tampered with and his dashboard damaged when thieves entered the vehicle and made off with the CD/radio and a case containing 100 CDs.
Mon., Oct 30 An officer patrolling the 5000 block of Greenview filed a malicious destruction of property report after discovering that two mailboxes had been pulled from the ground, broken, and left in the middle of the road. Letters and newspapers inside the were burned.
Independence Township
Prescription fraud. A Sterling Heights woman was arrested and jailed Oct. 5 after unsuccessfully attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription at a pharmacy in Clarkston. The pharmacist noted that the prescription had been flagged and stalled the woman at the drive thru window while signaling another employee to call police. The woman fled, but was quickly located at and taken into custody. Police confiscated two bottles of illegally obtained prescriptions from the backseat of the vehicle.
Vehicle fire. Police responding to a call at a storage facility on White Lake Road found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The owner of the vehicle claimed he’d been working on a leaky fuel pump in his Toyota truck, but couldn’t see what he was doing. The truck caught fire when the man used a lighter to illuminate the area he was attempting to work on. Part of the storage unit was damaged by the fire.
Disorderly conduct. Police were called to the North Oakland Medical Center on Dixie Highway when a 27-year-old man became disorderly after his demands to see a doctor were refused due to outstanding debt in collection. The man began shouting at staff and patients in the office, and is said to have “flipped off” one staff member. Several of the patients in the waiting room at the time were children. When police arrived the man continued the disorderly behavior, and complained that the police are always being called on him. He was issued an appearance ticket for disorderly conduct.
Marijuana possession. An 18-year-old man was stopped by police when he was spotted driving his white Chevy Avalanche the wrong way down a one way street. The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana and confiscated marijuana
and a variety of drug paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. The man was issued an appearance citation.
Tires slashed.? All four tires of a vehicle owned by a Clarkston man were slashed outside the man’s Lancaster Hills apartment off Dixie Hwy. sometime during the night of Oct. 6.’The man reported that it was the third time such damage had been inflicted on his car in four months, although he indicated no knowledge of who is responsible.
Stolen wine.? A Waterford man picked up a hitchhiker, then drove to a grocery store on Sashabaw Road in Clarkston to see about getting some liquor. The man grabbed six bottles of wine and ran from store while an employee wrote down the man’s license plate number. Police were knocking on the front door of the man’s house when he pulled up and police noted a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The man was arrested and issued an appearance citation.? The hitchhiker was not located.

Township
Mouse fight. Police were called to a car dealership on Dixie Highway in Davisburg Oct 2. to investigate a fistfight that broke out when two employees sparred over placement of a computer mouse on the desk they shared. One of the men repeatedly secured the mouse to the mouse pad with zip ties, the other cut the ties twice before getting angry and throwing a nearby stool in the direction of his coworker. A fight ensued.
Bar robbed. Thieves broke into a bar located on Dixie Highway in Springfield Township during the night of Oct 1. The owner returned in the morning to find freezers and refrigerators ransacked, and money missing from broken game machines. The crooks also helped themselves to beer and cigarettes.
