June 4: A 16-year-old boy from Oxford was reported missing from a youth facility, located in the 900 block of E. Drahner Rd, to Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 11:50 p.m. The boy was reportedly last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and pants and is described as African American and short, black hair. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate the boy.

June 4: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 700 block of Market St. to assist the Oxford Fire Department at 2:17 p.m., where employees reported finding visible smoke within the building. Fire officials located smoldering towels within a machine in the laundry room. There were no reports of injuries.

June 1: The mother of a 11-year-old boy from Oxford called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 9:15 p.m. to report that her son’s phone had allegedly been stolen from his school’s playground, located in the 1000 block of Lakeville Rd. According to the boy, he had been playing on the playground with his friends when he had placed the phone on the ground before playing on the monkey bars. He then went to a nearby friend’s house, where he realized he had forgotten his phone and went back to retrieve it. It was then that the boy allegedly witnessed another boy, approximately 17-years-old pick, the phone up. When the boy asked him to return it, the suspect allegedly said “no” and took off running. The boy told Sheriff’s deputies that the suspect had allegedly thrown a rock at him when he tried to chase him. The phone was noted in the report to be a black Samsumg Galaxy 7 with a black/blue case. The suspect was described by the boy to be a white male with short, blonde hair. He was also described to be tall and thin and was allegedly wearing a t-shirt and gym shorts.

June 1: A 29-year-old woman called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 2:28 p.m. to report an incident of breaking and entering from a locked shed at her home, located in the 100 block of Dunlap Circle. The woman said her mother, a 67-year-old woman from Leonard, had allowed her to borrow a lawn mower on May 30 and that she had intended on returning it June 1 at noon but that the mower was no longer located in her shed. The woman’s mother had allegedly told her that the mower had already been returned and that she had asked her boyfriend, a 75-year-old man from Leonard, to retrieve it. The suspect allegedly told deputies that he “thought he was doing her a favor by picking it up, so she wouldn’t have to.” He was issued a citation for malicious mischief (illegal entry).
