Do you take credit cards?
An Oxford Village police officer was on patrol when he noticed a black Chevy Silverado speed through an intersection. He followed the vehicle to see if the truck was speeding. Indeed, it was speeding and swerving in and out of its lane, according to the police report.
When the officer turned on his overhead lights to pull the Silverado over, the truck did not slow down. When the driver finally pulled over, the officer noticed his glassy eyes and that his speech was slurred, the reported stated.
The 57-year-old Bloomfield Hills man tried to give the officer his credit card after being asked for his driver’s license. Tests determined the driver was intoxicated even though he had repeatedly told the officer he had not been drinking. The man was arrested on suspicion of druken driving.
Don’t drink and parent
A 36-year-old Oxford mother got in a verbal disagreement with one of her two daughters Aug. 24, after which they parted ways and went to their rooms to calm down.
The other daughter, a 19-year-old, then heard her mother allegedly breaking glass and other parts of the home, so she called police. Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies came to the home and observed that broken glass and furniture were everywhere.
The mother was drinking and said she didn’t remember trashing the home, the report stated. The woman had an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant, so police arrested her and took her to jail for holding.
While en route to the jail, she repeatedly kicked the driver’s seat and yelled at the deputy, accusing him of being a rapist, the report stated.
Don’t go breaking my furniture
A 31-year-old Oxford woman called police to report her ex-boyfriend, a 46-year-old Pontiac man, broke into her home and damaged some furniture, according to a sheriff’s report.
She said he showed up and “pounded” on her door for several minutes before letting himself in and damaging her coffee table and mirror by throwing them.
Officers noticed no signs of forced entry to the home, but did confirm that some furniture was broken. The man was issued a fine for damaging property.
I swear it was for a friend
Meijer loss prevention employees detained a 15-year-old Oxford High School student for shoplifting on Aug. 25. Security cameras showed the boy opening his backpack and putting a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka inside it, the report stated.
The boy said he understood what he did was wrong and that he didn’t take the alcohol for himself. He said it was for a friend.
Mac attacks aren’t exempt from PPOs
An employee of the Oxford McDonalds called deputies after her ex-boyfriend, a 25-year-old Lake Orion man, allegedly came to her place of employment, breaking the personal protection order she has against him.
She said he went through the drive-through, ordered some food and left without talking to her, but is aware that he cannot go to the McDonald’s where she works. Deputies informed her that if her ex-boyfriend shows up again, she should call police immediately.
