Teenager runs away
Two Oxford parents called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies on the evening of Dec. 11 to report that their 17-year-old daughter had ran away. According to the report, the parents told officers they had seen their daughter the evening before and had woken up that morning to a note from her saying that she had run away, but would soon return. They told officers that she had written in the note that she was depressed, but they did not think she would hurt herself.
Officers could not locate her that evening, and advised the family to inform them of any leads they might get in the coming days.
Local man arrested
Oxford Village police officers were dispatched around 4 a.m. on Dec. 17 for a report of trespassing. When police arrived at the home in question, the woman who answered the door said she had called about her son, who was in the basement. According to the report, the officer who responded to the call heard strange noises coming from the basement and, when he opened the door, the son jumped at him.
The officer subdued and identified the man, who is a 36-year-old Oxford resident with two warrants out in his name – one misdemeanor in Oakland County and one felony in Macomb County. According to the report, the officer observed the man as sweating, fidgeting and having “constricted” pupils. The man later told the officer he was high on heroin. After that, the man was arrested and taken to the Macomb County Jail without further incident.
