Boyfriend allegedly steals girlfriend’s car, purse
A woman called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies on March 16 to report that her boyfriend, a 34-year-old Lake Orion man, allegedly stole her car, purse and cellphone. She said her purse had her wallet inside. According to the police report, she told officers she had woken up that morning to find her car, cellphone, purse and boyfriend gone. She told officers that he had taken her car once before around Thanksgiving 2018. He was contacted and said he would return with the car.
Stolen liquor at Meijer
A teen got away with theft on March 15 at the Oxford Meijer. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, video surveillance shows a teenage male of about 17 years old, wearing blue jeans and a Lake Orion varsity football jacket, stuff a bottle of Bacardi Rum in the front of his pants. Loss prevention employees were unable to stop him before he ran out of the store. Police have no other leads as to who the teen might be.
Teens caught with marijuana in village
Six teenage males from Oxford and Leonard were issued citations on March 14 after being caught smoking marijuana underage by Oxford Village Police. According to the police report, a village officer out on patrol saw two vehicles parked together in the back of a lot. Due to a high volume of suspicion calls, the officer went to check out the scene. In both cars, the report states the officer could smell marijuana.
A collection of marijuana, vapes and tobacco products were confiscated from one of the vehicles and the six teenage males were taken to the village station for holding. According to the report, two of the boys had warrants originating from Huron County. But, all six teens were simply cited for underage use of marijuana and were released to their parents.
Woman arrested on OWI
A 59-year-old Flint woman was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail on March 14 after drunkenly speeding through downtown Oxford. According to the police report, Village police observed the woman driving 52 miles per hour through downtown Oxford, a 30 mph zone.
When the officer asked her where she was heading, the woman said she was coming from Grand Blanc and was trying to get to Flint. She thought she was lost. According to the report, she said she had a “couple” of drinks. After the officer administer a preliminary breath test and observed a blood alcohol content of 0.14 from the woman, he took her to the village station without incident. She was later transported to the Oakland County Jail.
