A drunken assault
Oxford Village police were called by a 36-year-old Oxford man on the evening of Oct. 1, who said his wife was drunk and assaulted him. When officers arrived, the report states they observed her as drunk, slurring her speech, being immediately hostile and yelling profanities at the officers. Officers pulled the husband aside and asked him about the altercation. He said his wife had been angry and hit him, but he showed no signs of injury. When officers attempted to talk to the wife, a 29-year-old, she allegedly continued to swear and refused to speak to them about the incident. So, officers arrested her for domestic assault.
While officers tried to place her in handcuffs, she struggled and officers needed to take her to the ground, according to the report. While en route to the station, she headbutted an officer and continually swore at the officers. When all was said and done, the woman faced one count of domestic assault, one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of resistance.
Fighting over cigarettes and iPods
On Oct. 5, a 24-year-old Oxford man called police after he and his brother had a fight that resulted in them falling from the second floor of their home to the ground floor. The man’s younger brother, a 21-year-old Oxford man, had asked him for a cigarette. Before the older brother could answer, the younger brother informed him that his dog had gotten into some food. When his brother asked why he hadn’t stopped the dog, he said it wasn’t his dog and therefore not his “problem.” This prompted the older brother to deny him a cigarette. According to the report, the two started fighting and eventually fell from the second floor of their home, breaking a guard rail in the process. So, the older brother called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies and his younger brother was arrested for assault, but he chose to not press charges.
Deputies returned to the home the next night for another fight. According to the report, the younger brother had returned home and couldn’t find his iPod, so he blamed his brother. When his brother denied taking the iPod, they began fighting again. Deputies arrested the younger brother for domestic assault once more.
Marshal Mathers’ ‘mother’
Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an Oxford gas station on Oct. 7 due to a woman disturbing other customers. The woman, a 64-year-old from Rochester Hills, was outside the gas station when officers found her. According to the report, officers observed that she had lipstick all over her face and was unloading the contents of her car into the parking lot. When officers approached her, she complained of the gas pump not working and claimed to be Marshal Mathers’, also known as the Detroit-bred rapper Eminem, mother. Though the report states much of what she said was unintelligible, she mentioned being released from a hospital after being treated for “her mind” about a week earlier. Officers had her car towed “for safe keeping” and took her to a hospital.
