Robert John Strong, a longtime resident of Leonard, passed away on March 31, 2019 surrounded by his beloved family. He was 79.

He was born Feb. 22, 1940, the son of Milward and Evelyn (Johnston) Strong in Leonard. Robert married his beloved wife Nancy (Schook) on May 19, 1961 at Leonard Methodist Church. He worked at General Motors Truck and Bus in Pontiac for 31 years, then B&B Welding for eight years and finally at Glen Eisenhardt Excavating for 10 years. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening. But most of all, he loved spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy of Leonard, children Robert Bayne Strong of Oxford, Lou Ann (Joseph) Klee of Shelby Twp., Tim (Ami) Strong of Attica, Rhonda (Eric Eisenhardt) Strong of Almont, and Roberta of Leonard.   Also surviving is sister Mabel Ann (Tom) Neddermeyer of Armada and brother Ron (Sue) Strong of Oxford, beloved grandchildren Joey (Michelle), Ashley, Ammie (Phil), Amanda (John), Robert (Heather), Alicia, Jeff, Katilyn(Devon), Rachel (Matt), Angelina, Austin (Nicole), Timothy, Emily, Nicole, loving great-grandchildren Robert Stacey, Daniel, Chelsea, Jak, Addison, Riley, Ryder, Izabelle, Eli, Amelia, Brooklynn, Georgie, and baby girl Tuzinsky on the way.   He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Irvin, Donald and Margaret J. Brokaw and granddaughter Ashley.

A funeral service was held on April 6 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Schriber officiating. Burial will be made at Lakeville Cemetery (825 Drahner Rd.).
