Tiny Cecilia Faith Stevens-Rivera is only a few days old and she’s already a local celebrity.
She wasn’t born wearing a top hat or sporting a 2011 sash, but this sweet little girl has the distinction of being Oxford’s first baby of the New Year and the second born in Oakland County.
She was born at 2:37 a.m. Jan. 1 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills. Labor was induced at 7 p.m. Dec. 30, but Cecilia waited a while before making her big debut.
‘Everyone is excited and happy, and can’t get enough of her,? said mother Jillian Stevens, 21, who’s a 2007 graduate of Oxford High School.
Having a New Year’s baby has been a ‘crazy? experience for Jillian, who’s received lots of calls and e-mails.
Weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length, little Cecilia is Jillian’s first child.
The father is Omar Rivera, of Lake Orion.
‘She looks like her dad,? Jillian said. ‘She’s got his nose and his eyes. She looks just like him.?
So far, Cecilia has been a quiet baby.
‘She likes to sleep,? Jillian said.
Cecilia’s grandparents are Charlie and Maureen Stevens and Lorenzo and Isabel Rivera, all of Oxford.
Jillian will earn her associate’s degree in corrections from Oakland Community College this winter. She is looking to pursue a career as a corrections officer.
