Fourth and fifth grade students at Oxford Elementary School in Girl Scout Troop 76945 finished their project to earn their Bronze Award.
“It is the third highest overall honor award within Girl Scouts, but the highest that a girl can achieve at this age level,” Co-Troop Leader Lisa Hart said. “To earn the award girls explore their community to find an issue or need. Once they decide on what the focus of their award is, they develop their project and find ways to help. They must spend at least 20 hours on it from start to completion.”
According to Co-Troop Leader Jennifer Curry, the troop learned about Oxford Community Schools’ therapy dog program and the hounds of the “Oxford Wildcat Pack”
“They made a plan to assist them with donating various dog supplies,” Curry said. “This helped to support the therapy dog program in the school district. They just completed it in March after working on it over the last couple of months.”
I KNOW ALL OF THESE GIRLS!!
