On June 17 the Oakland County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution sponsored by Commissioner Michael Spisz (R-Oxford) securing $21,385 for the Village of Leonard, the Village of Ortonville and the Village of Oxford through the county’s Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP).
“It is always good to see our local communities taking advantage of programs that help improve their infrastructure,” Spisz said. “I am proud to have supported this program, which not only helps our local communities, but also continues to make Oakland County a great place to live and do business.”
These funds will be used to help with road maintenance requirements and other road repairs. Leonard plans to use $3,191 to help with road improvements of local and major unpaved streets. Ortonville plans to use $5,119 to help with fill fatigue cracks on various local roads. Oxford plans to use $13,075 to help with road and drainage improvements on Hudson Street.
“With the assistance of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Local Road Improvement Program and our County Commissioner Michael Spisz, the Village of Leonard has been able to fund important road improvements,” Michael McDonald, Leonard village president, said. “These upgrades will enhance the downtown business area with improved safety and accessibility on our local roads.”
Oakland County’s LRIP provides limited financial assistance to Oakland County cities and villages for repairs and improvements on roadways under their jurisdiction.
