Brandon Twp.-While at sea, former Navy sailor Dennis O’Malley was a cook.
Now Dennis and the crew at O’Malley’s Galley 1595 S. Ortonville Road has come ashore in the township.
The restaurant and catering service, previously located in Holly, is owned by the O’Malley family? Dennis, Michele, Dennis II, Ashley and Brian.
‘We’re devoted to our business,? said Dennis, a certified chef and has been in the catering business for about 20 years with wife Michele. ‘Everything is made from scratch and cooked to order.?
The restaurant, adorned with wood tables, booths, and nautical decor, specializes in seafood and certified Angus beef. A variety of steaks, including porterhouse, New York strip steak, and London broil can be ordered throughout the week. On Friday and Saturday nights, prime rib is available. More than 30 fresh seafood items are offered, including scallops, shrimp, salmon, Maryland blue crab cakes, clams, oysters, walleye, and catfish. Other items are available dependent upon the market.
O’Malley’s famous Icelandic cod is part of the all-you-can-eat fish and chips special on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Lake perch and barbecued ribs are all-you-can-eat on Thursday. Barbecued ribs and chicken are made with O’Malley’s own famous sauce.
A soup and salad bar can be found inside the restaurant, with at least five different homemade soups available daily, including New England clam chowder, navy bean, and French onion. Salad dressings are all made in house.
A full line of sandwiches is offered, as well as Italian pasta and specialty Irish dishes such as the traditional corned beef and cabbage.
Bread, rolls and muffins are all baked in house and Michelle makes all pastries? tiramisu, cannoli, hot fudge cakes, a variety of pies including banana cream, coconut cream, chocolate cream, key lime and more.
The business caters events from formal weddings to casual hog roasts and barbecues.
The O’Malley’s, Groveland Township residents, employ more than 20 local people and are happy to be in their new location.

O’Malley’s Galley is open from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m.- 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and has brunch from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays. Details: (248) 627-6790.
