New semester, same winning streak.
Oxford’s boys basketball team extended its undefeated streak to seven games on Jan. 4 by taking down Farmington Hills Harrison 79-48.
“It was our best performance of the (season),” Head Coach Steve Laidlaw said.
Once again, the boys held the opposing team to less than 50 points. Those defensive efforts were led by senior forwards Dujoun Williams and Connor Nicholson, who Laidlaw said played the game “fantastic defensively.”
On the score board, many of the team’s boys chipped in strong amounts. Senior forward Micheal Raisch led the Wildcats with 17 points. But, he was closely followed by Williams with 13, junior forward Trey Townsend with 12 and senior guard Logan Coughlin with 10. Coughlin also put up eight rebound throughout the night, followed by Townsend’s three.
Now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the OAA Blue, the Wildcats will take the court again on Jan.11 away against Seaholm after travelling to Ferndale on Jan. 8.
