An Orion Township woman charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct was bound over for trial after preliminary exam Monday in 52-3 District Court.
Norma Elisa Lira, 32, was arrested Jan. 26, and remains lodged at Oakland County Jail on $50,000 bond.
According to information released by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, investigators started to build a case after the suspect’s husband reported his wife may have committed a sexual act with a 13-year-old boy, also an Orion resident.
The alleged assault, said a statement released by Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe, took place on an unknown date between August and October of 2009, at the suspects home on Flintridge street.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant Jan. 26 for third degree criminal sexual conduct: fellatio, with a person at least 13 years of age, but under 16.
The charge is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
McCabe said the suspect, who has no prior criminal record, was visiting relatives in Texas when the warrant was issued, and voluntarily returned to face the charge.
She’s scheduled for 6th Circuit Court arraignment Feb. 24.
