Shirley D. Graves, of Oxford, passed away on November 6, 2016. She was 71.

Shirley was the wife of the late Gene Graves; mother of Lauri (Dan) Powell, Gene Graves II, Brian (Jamie) Graves and Jeff Graves; granny of Daniel Powell II, Connor Powell, Hannah Graves, Carly Graves and Addison Graves; and sister of the late Ruby (Dewey) Thomas, Ruth Ann (Melvin) Phillips Smalley, the late Raford (Eloise) Keeth, the late Mary Marie (Sam) Bigham, JT (Hilda) Keeth, Bobby Keeth and Bernice (Jimmy) Colburn.

Shirley began her professional career working for the City of Pontiac and would later retire from General Motors.

She cherished the time spent with her husband at their family cabin and she was always proud of her kids’ and grandkids’ accomplishments. Shirley also loved her Tiger Baseball, bowling with her friends, and the companionship of her dogs.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
