Shirley Ricketts, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024. She was born on December 14, 1927. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John and Ethel Dalgleish, her husband James Ricketts, an infant son John and her three sisters. Shirley is survived by six children; Martha Rahe, (Bruce) of Berrien Springs, MI; Helen Cooper, (Harry) of Berryville, VA; Janet Honsinger, (Michael) of Lapeer, MI; Thomas Ricketts (Noreen) of Sun City, FL; Peter Ricketts, (Linda), of Canadian Lakes, MI; and Maryann Alexander, (Tracy) of Oxford, MI. Shirley is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Oxford, Michigan. She loved her family, church, and travel. She was able to visit Europe, Bermuda, Peru, and traveled extensively in the United States, including to Alaska. Her activities included bowling, golf, and singing in a sisters’ quartet. An avid camper, she was a member of the Michigander’s RV club. Shirley will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral service is at Trinity Methodist Church, 1310 N Main St, Lapeer, MI 48446 on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at the church at 10 a.m.
