On May 14, 2021, Shirley Younker passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Shirley was born in Oxford, the daughter of Orville and Ruth Mann. She was a graduate and served on the class reunion committee of Oxford High School Class of 1956. She married the love of her life, the late Donald

Younker, on August 13, 1966. She was a devoted, loving, and caring mom to Jennifer (J.J.) Burger (David). She is proceeded in death by her sisters Marliyn LaPlante, Diane Mann, and is survived by her brother Gary Mann. She was a proud aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Shirley worked at Oxford Bank for several years in the Human Resource/Accounting departments, where she met many longtime friends and was awarded with Employee of the Year as well.
Shirley first and foremost loved being a mom. She also loved spending time with her family and friends, especially if it involved going out to eat. She enjoyed bowling and golf with her husband and friends, as well as playing games, doing cross-word puzzles, planting flowers and attending her church. She loved being a mom to her furr-babies as well, including her beloved Rusty.
She will forever be in our hearts and missed beyond measure.
A memorial visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to noon, when a private service will begin. There is a limit to 25 people in the building at a time and masks are required.
