Oxford students got the day off from school Monday as the area was hit with its first big winter storm of the season.
A total of 8 to 11 inches was dumped on southeast Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. The snow started after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 11 and fell steadily until around 3 a.m. on Dec. 12.
