Three hard-fought sets weren’t enough for Wildcat volleyball as they lost them all to rival Lake Orion on Sept. 13.
After losing the first set 25-9, the Wildcats came back and put more points on the board. Despite Oxford’s efforts, the Dragons walked away with the win after beating the Wildcats 25-23 and 25-18.
Senior and libero McKenzie Miller and junior setter Maddy Weiss led the team on the court defensively and put in strong serves, setting up the team to compete in good volleys. Sophomore Emma LaBarge also put in strong defensive effort and led the team in blocks. LaBarge also made five kills in offensive effort.
On the offensive end, sophomore Molly Miller and junior Sydney Richter led the offense with eight and seven kills, respectively.
The Wildcats will take on Stoney Creek at home on Thursday, Sept. 20. The first serve will go up at 7 p.m.
