The Oxford varsity volleyball team improved their record 13-4-2 after beating Walled Lake Western in three matches.
The girls won the first match 25-8 and match number two and three were both 25-13 victories. Top scorers included Marie Matheis with nine kills, Nicole Elzerman with six kills and three aces, Grace Wysocki with six kills and libero Hailey Hartwick with seven digs and four aces.
‘The girls played well and to their potential and stayed focused throughout the game,? said Head Coach Latoria Thomas. ‘They had very few errors throughout the night and I was very impressed they kept Western to a low score.?
The girls will travel to Flushing High School tonight (Sept. 9) to faceoff against Clarkston, North Branch and Flushing high schools. The match will begin at 5 p.m. The next home match will be Tuesday, Sept. 15 against West Bloomfield. That match will begin at 7 p.m.
