Temperatures have spring plants sprouting, birds singing and locals eating icecream — just like Autumn Bugg, a Brandon Township was last week at The Frosty Boy.

It’s a shame that some people don’t think it’s newsworthy when an elementary school holds its annual fun-filled Spring Fair just as Lakeville Elementary did on Saturday.
But fortunately, we at the Oxford Leader know that it’s events like these that are the bread-and-butter of community journalism.
Proud parents and grandparents want to clip these adorable photos out of the newspaper and place them in their scrapbooks or on their refrigerator doors.
Kids absolutely love seeing themselves and bragging to all their friends about how they were in the local newspaper.
We’re in our 115th year of doing this and we’re going to keep on, no matter what.

Downtown Lake Orion presented the Fifth Annual Flower Fair and Home and Garden Marketplace under sunny, blue skies over the weekend.
Rainy weather that had plagued the area over the past week finally broke, and area residents were able to enjoy the fair’s entertainment, concessions, children’s activities and vendor booths, including plants and garden accessories.
On Saturday, visitors got ‘how to? tips from vendor speakers, and on Sunday Radio Disney entertained the kids, which DTLO Events Coordinator Amy Lieblein said was a big hit.
‘Overall, I think we had about the same attendance as last year,? she said. ‘But all of our vendors were very pleased.?
The Orion Art Center also presented their Art in Bloom all-media street art fair in conjunction with the Flower Fair.
