Traveling to West Bloomfield High School for their second dual meet of the season, the Oxford Wildcats girls’ swim and dive team picked up another victory, 109-77.
Led by junior Jenna Fistler and sophomore Cali Schnur’s two wins apiece, the Wildcats took the top spot in nine of the 12 events.
Fistler won both the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter butterfly, and Schnur won the 200-meter individual medley and the 500-meter freestyle.
Junior twins Grace and Nellie Charnstrom added wins in the 100-meter backstroke and 100-meter breaststroke, respectively.
Another girl that has continued to make a name for herself is junior diver Amelia Knotts. Recording a career-best six-dive score of 168.20, Knotts now sits sixth on Oxford’s all-time list.
Paired with their season-opening win over Lake Orion, the Wildcats have now defeated consecutive OAA White opponents to begin the season. Hoping to contend for the White title, they are off to a good start.
The girls are next in action on Thursday, September 12 when they travel to Bloomfield Hills High School to face the Blackhawks. Currently 1-1, Bloomfield Hills opened their season with a victory over Berkley, but followed it up with a loss to Lake Orion.
