The Varsity Girls Swim and Dive team achieved a big win of 153-29 over fellow OAA Blue Division Team, Hazel Park at a home meet Thursday, Oct. 20.
Oxford is now 5-1 in the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Blue Division and 3-1 overall.
The results were as follows:
In the 200 Medley Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of sophomore Claire Alexander, Victoria Mc Clenaghan, Freshman Keira Veltigian, and freshman Ashlee Weltyk took first with a time of 2:06.17. Oxford’s B Relay of junior Emily Vican, freshman Kaleigh Rogers, senior Captain Danielle Kemp, and Hannah Schonfeld finished second.
In the 200 Freestyle, Kemp came in first with a time of 2:20.04. Sophomore Cailin Griffith took second and Rachael Baker took third.
In the 200 Individual Medley, Alexander finished first with a time of 2:30.14.
In the 50 Freestyle, Weltyk took first with a time of 26.44. She is now the third fastest 50 freestyler in Oxford’s history.
In the diving portion, Oxford freshman Emma Moore claimed first with 152.50 points. Veltigian took second and Sage Brocco took third.
In the100 Butterfly, Weltyk finished first with a time of 1:10.20.
In the 100 Freestyle, senior Christina Boydston came in first with a time of 1:02.23. Rogers claimed second and Mc Clenaghan took third for Oxford.
In the 500 Freestyle, Alexander took first with a time of 5:50.10. Griffith took second and Kemp placed third.
In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Mc Clenaghan, Paisley Arent, Schonfeld, and Boydston finished first with a time of 1:59.64. Oxford’s B Relay of Rogers, Mattie Johnson, Emily McClear, and Elsa Rodriguez claimed second place.
In the 100 Backstroke, Vican touched first with a time of 1:12.67.
In the 100 Breaststroke, Rogers came in first with a personal best time of 1:21.35.
In the 400 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Alexander, Kemp, Boydston, and Weltyk finished first with a time of 4:07.93. Oxford’s B Relay of Griffith, Izzy Frechette, Paige Hodder, and Vican claimed second place.
Oxford’s last home dual meet of the season is Thursday, October 27th at 6 p.m. against Troy Athens.
There will be a brief ceremony honoring the Oxford Wildcat Seniors following the diving portion of the meet.
