The Oxford Wildcats girls’ swim and dive program defeated the Rochester Falcons, 123-63, on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Claiming first-place in all 12 events, juniors Grace Charnstrom and Jenna Fistler and sophomore Cali Schnur all won two events. Schnur’s 1:12.09 100-meter backstroke performance moved her into third-place on the Wildcats’ all-time list.
Improving to 4-0 on the season, Oxford sits atop the OAA White standings, one-game ahead of the Lake Orion Dragons.
Even with this fantastic start, head coach and math teacher Jackie Rank is making sure her girls are staying humble and focused.
“We have to keep training hard, keep improving and try to add some more wins to our record,” Rank said.
A non-league matchup, the Wildcats host the Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish on Thursday, Sept. 26.
The team resumes league play when they face Birmingham Groves on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Oxford also hosted the Wildcat Diving Invitational on Sept. 21. Featuring 27 divers from five schools, the Novi Wildcats took home the title with Oxford finishing third.
Coming in third in the six-dive event, junior Peyton Warren was Oxford’s top individual performer in the invitational.
