Swimmers take on OAA II

A pair of victories by Ricky Forrest highlighted Lake Orion’s fifth place finish at the OAA II league meet, held last weekend at the LOHS Natatorium.
Forrest won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:40.52, nearly 12 seconds faster than the nearest competitor in the finals. He also took top honors in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.00).
The 400-yard relay team of David Kullmann, Peter Slavin, Kyle Kibbe and Forrest placed sixth and a team of Darryn Horvath, Kullmann, Kibbe and Forrest took fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Also, the team of Nicholas Liggieri, Jeff Paulus, Brent Davidson and Horvath placed seventh in the 200-yard medley relay.
In other individual action, Davidson took seventh in the 100-yard butterfly and teammates Paulus and Ryan Brent finished fourth and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
On the diving board, Justin Davis placed sixth for the Dragons.
Those finishes combined for a team total of 233 points, which tied Clarkston for fifth overall. Farmington Harrison won the event with 343 points.
The MHSAA state meet is on tap for next weekend.
