Despite a strong effort, the Wildcat tennis team dropped a match at home against Royal Oak 5-3 on Sept. 27.
Oxford took home wins from two singles matches and had a lone doubles win.
Senior Lauren Opalewski grabbed the No. 1 Singles match in two sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Junior Trevor Wallace went home with a win from No. 3 Singles, which he won in two sets with scores of 6-4 and 6-3.
On the doubles end, junior Cameron Mumbrue and freshman Chase Maier took the win in No. 4 Doubles in three sets. The two winning sets, one and three, had scores of 6-0 and 6-3 respectively with the losing second set having a score of 6-4 in favor of Royal Oak.
This puts Oxford 10-5 overall in the season. Oxford will take the court again on Oct. 4 against Farmington at the league tournament, which could end the season for Wildcat tennis.
