The Oxford Chamber of Commerce and Genisys Credit Union present Scholarship Opportunity

Do any current Oxford High School seniors need an extra $1,000 for continuing your education after graduation?

The Oxford Chamber of Commerce and Genisys Credit Union announced last week the return of the Community Pride Scholarship for OHS seniors. Four eligible students from the graduating class of 2023 will be awarded $1,000 each.
According to a release from the chamber, students can submit an essay, artwork, music, or video in response to the question, “What does the Oxford Community mean to you?”, along with a letter of recommendation. To be eligible, applicants must be a graduating OHS senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The scholarship has been established to provide tuition assistance to OHS senior students who plan to continue their education at a vocational school, college, or university.
“We are grateful to be able to support the higher education journey of Oxford High School seniors who have developed an understanding of what it means to belong to and give back to their communities,” said Jackie Buchanan, President and CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “A special thank you to the Oxford Chamber and Oxford High School for helping coordinate our scholarship opportunity.”

All complete applications will be reviewed by members of the Community Pride Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded by May 1. The scholarship check will be made payable to the educational institution, not to the student.
Students can be going to college, trade school, technical school or for an apprenticeship.

Applications are due by close of business Friday, April 14, to a Genisys Credit Union branch or the Oxford High School Counseling Office. For additional details and to apply visit the website genisyscu.org/OHSPride.
