Brandon Twp.- The vehicle of a township man missing for more than two months has been found in the parking lot of a local vehicle dealership.
Timothy Robert Burch, 54, disappeared sometime between June 24 and July 2 from his home in the 1800 block of Lake Pointe.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Pete Burkett said an employee of Simms Chevrolet, 110 Ortonville Road, found the 2005 Chevy Silverado truck owned by Timothy Robert Burch, 54. The truck was discovered Aug. 29 in the rear parking lot of the business when the employee ran the license plate number to see why the vehicle was there and if it was to be serviced. The employee learned the vehicle had been purchased and serviced at the dealership and called the family, who in turn called the police. It is unknown how long the vehicle was at the dealership.
Hundreds of heavily wooded acres behind the dealership were searched for three days by deputies, a police helicopter, and search dogs.
‘We scoured the area with no results,? said Burkett. ‘We’re still holding onto the idea that he is OK and just doesn’t want to be found. We think he may have some emotional problems and is missing of his own free will. We are waiting for a tip as to where he may be or what he’s been up to. We hope to find him alive.?
Burch is white, about 5?10″ and 165 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-TURN-1-IN.
