Hadley Township — On Thursday, Sept. 18 at approximately 12:23 a.m., two former Brandon High School students were fatally injured in a rollover accident in Hadley Township.
Andrew Michael Guellec, 18, was killed after he lost control of his car and hit a tree on Baldwin, south of Broker Road.
Passenger Andrew Ryan Cooper, 17, was thrown from the vehicle and transported to Lapeer Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police reports say the driver was trapped in the car and he was wearing his seat belt; however, the passenger was not.
Further investigation is being done to determine the cause of the accident.
Both men were students at Brandon High School, and counselors were on hand to offer grief counseling for as long as students need it.
Several students left the school after hearing the news of the accident.
