VeinSolutions in town to treat vein troubles

Along with McLaren and Clarkston Medical Center building new facilities in Independence Township, Dr. Russell Becker of VeinSolutions saw a local need for his services.
‘We thought this is a new community where we don’t have a referring base at all and they don’t know us, so we thought we’d come down here and set up a main office, ” Becker said.
VeinSolutions offers treatment for varicose and spider veins, with in-office procedures and outpatient surgery. They also offer free evaluations to patients, which determines whether procedures are covered by insurance.
‘We use ultrasound technology to aid in diagnosing each patient’s specific problem, and then customize a treatment plan for the unique needs of that patient,? Becker said.
Michigan Vascular Center started in Flint in 1973.
‘Our arterial practice has always been the mainstay of our practice, he said. “As medicine has changed, we’ve had to develop some other services to supplement our arterial work, and Dr. Garner had an interest in veins,? Becker said. ‘He started our first VeinSolutions in 2004 in the Flint area.”
Looking down the road, Becker saw the Clarkston community needed a vascular service, not only for veins but also arterial and the dialysis patients.
‘That’s why we came down here. We saw a need for the vascular services. We saw down in the future one of the Flint hospitals that was very involved, and one of the busier hospitals we serviced is also going to be down here,? he said. ‘It seemed like a natural match for us, a community that needed this as well as down the road, we’d probably be down here anyways.”
VeinSolutions is in the Clarkston Medical Building, 5701 Bow Pointe Drive off Sashabaw Road, suite 212. For more information, call 248-620-9901 or visit Michiganvascular.com and click on vein solutions.
‘I think Clarkston is very fortunate to have this kind of level of expertise down here available to them, said Betsy Felton, nurse manager.
