Oxford United Methodist Church is inviting the community to a royal celebration tea fund-raiser on Saturday, May 19 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Highlights of this event will include a viewing of the royal wedding on the “big screen,” musical entertainment and a silent auction with more than $2,000 worth of unique items.
Food and drinks will also be served for “high tea” and a special guest will speak about making a difference in the world.
Those attending are encouraged to wear their Sunday best dress. Hats and gloves are optional.
A photo booth will be available.
Event organizer Teresa Nelson said she hopes the event will serve as a “fun day” for the Oxford community.
“We hope this will be a day with friends and children… sometimes we don’t treat ourselves with a special treat like this as much as we should,” Nelson said.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
These tickets are limited and may be purchased by contacting Nelson through email at teresanelson.premier@outlook.com or by calling (248) 431-2025.
Tickets are also sold within the church’s Fellowship Hall during OUMC’s 11 a.m. services.
Proceeds will benefit OUMC and will help the church afford the purchase of new tables for its fellowship hall. The church is located at 21 E. Burdick St.
