Cops: Boy, 5, injured in crash with dad

A 5-year-old Oxford Township boy is reported to be in stable condition with minor injuries after he was allegedly hit by his father’s truck late Monday afternoon.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was riding his bicycle in a neighbor’s driveway when he rode out into Chieftain Circle, near Deer Path Trail, in the Lakes of Indianwood subdivision.

Authorities reported the boy rode out in front of a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by his 45-year-old father.

Oxford firefighters transported the boy to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

The boy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to sheriff’s investigators, who noted neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
