Council passes resolutions honoring dispatchers

Last week, the Oxford Village Council approved resolutions of appreciation for the community’s seven former dispatchers.

They were all laid off when the village closed its local dispatch center Nov. 30 and began contracting with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Recognized were full-time dispatchers Tony VanHouten, Justin Moser and Debbie O’Farrell. Part-time dispatchers Joanne Edmonds, James Owens, Laura Piercey and Robyn Zanin were also honored.
