Jerry Leon Carroll

Jerry Leon Carroll passed away on July 14, 2017. He was 78.

Upon graduating Oxford High School in 1957, he joined the U.S. Navy as a photographer aboard the USS Midway with the Seventh Fleet in the Western Pacific. Jerry served in the Navy for four years in Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, Okinawa, the Philippines and Pearl Harbor.

Jerry later went on to become a deputy dog warden for Oakland County, an auto body paint and graphics artist, and worked for several years at Champion Motor Homes.

He made the Dryden and Oxford areas his home, where among his hobbies he owned, bred and trained dogs. Of his many passions, Jerry enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, and he was a lifelong hunter, a tradition he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his siblings, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Judith and sister Shirley McCarthy.

Per Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 12 at 4 p.m. at Terry and Jennifer’s home.
