Volunteers portraying Oxford’s 19th-century settlers and their relatives brought history to life in the township cemetery Sunday as they recounted the pioneers’ lives, deeds and accomplishments as part of a walking tour.

The event was a fund-raiser for the Northeast Oakland Historical Society.

Sixty-three hearty souls braved the rain and winds to take the fun, educational tour.
