You have the right to hear a story

Oakland County Sheriff’s Reserve Deputy Bruce Mack served as a special guest reader last week at Clear Lake Elementary School.

He visited the classrooms of second-grade teachers Jennifer Clemens, Stacy MacDonald and Kristina Boyd.

Mack’s book of choice was “Officer Buckle and Gloria,” a 1995 children’s story written by Peggy Rathmann. It tells the tale of a police officer and police dog who visit schools and teach students about safety.

After Mack was done reading, he gave students stickers shaped like deputy sheriff badges. That’s always a big hit!
