1,800 lose power in Oxford due to high winds

High winds Saturday caused about 1,800 Oxford Twp. customers of DTE Energy to lose electricity as a result of widespread downed power lines, according to Len Singer, spokesman for DTE Energy.
Power was restored to all Oxford customers by late Sunday, Singer said.
Addison was ‘almost unaffected? by the outages with a maximum of 40 customers losing power. Power to all but five customers had been restored by Monday, however, Singer was not sure if those five were related to the wind damage.
At its peak, 165,000 customers were without power as a result of Saturday’s high winds, Singer said.
