Shared property line
A verbal argument between two Lake Villa Mobile Home Park neighbors escalated into a loaded handgun being pulled at 12:10 a.m. on Oct. 26.
The callers, Humphrey Drive residents, were sitting and talking on their front porch, where they were admittedly “a little loud.”
Shortly after the couple retreated inside, their Maynard Circle neighbor, a 29-year-old woman, began knocking on their front door, allegedly using foul language to tell them to quiet down because her kids were asleep. She threatened to alert her 31-year-old husband, who showed up a short time later.
According to Oakland County Sheriff deputy reports, after a brief verbal back-and-forth, the 31-year-old man pulled a light-colored handgun from his front hoodie pocket while standing at the edge of the shared property line.
The handgun was not discharged during the argument, but both callers said they were in fear for their lives.
The 29-year-old woman voluntarily allowed sheriff’s deputies into her residence to look at the two handguns the couple owned.
One of the weapons, a silver/off-white Smith & Wesson .40 caliber, matched the description given by the callers. Neither firearm was registered to the woman or her husband.
Charged with felonious assault, the man was taken to the Oakland County Jail and the case is pending Oakland County Prosecutor review.

Arreststed for assualt
On Oct. 25, deputies arrested a 40-year-old man on Bay Pointe Drive for assaulting his 39-year-old girlfriend. Charged with domestic assault, the man was taken to the Oakland County Jail.
Evaluated by the Oxford Fire Department for her injuries, the woman was cleared and declined additional medical attention. She was given a Victims’ Rights Card.
