A romantic dinner for two

Love was definitely in the air Valentine’s Day night at Victoria’s Delights as 42 local couples shared romantic dinners together in the quaint downtown Oxford bistro.
Soft lighting, gourmet food, fine wine and companionship in its best and purest form worked together to create an atmosphere not even Cupid himself could recreate.
‘She’s my soulmate,? said Addison Township resident Reuben Flatt as he smiled and gazed lovingly at his wife of 16 years, Nancy Flatt. ‘I’m just the luckiest, luckiest, lukciest man there is. I couldn’t design a better wife.?
‘He’s my best friend and he’s also my soulmate,? said Nancy in response to her husband’s sweet words. ‘We had to wait a long time to find one another, but everyday is special with him.?
Lake Orion couple Dan and Dawn Walsh split a bottle of sparking wine as they enjoyed a romantic evening away from their three children ? Emily (13), Patrick (11) and Brendan (5).
‘It’s nice to be able to take him out tonight and share the evening with him,? said Dawn, adding it’s nice to ‘have the stability and security that comes with marriage, but still have the love be alive.?
Dan and Dawn will celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in August, but have been together for 25 years.
Earlier that day Dan arranged for Dawn to enjoy some special time at Schenden’s Spa on the Lake in Lake Orion, where she received a chocolate facial and champagne body wrap.
Although they’ve been married for five years, Brian and Mimi Maguire, of Oxford, celebrated their 10th Valentine’s Day together with a intimate meal at a corner table.
Brian said every year he gets to spend with Mimi is especially precious to him.
‘My wife suffered a stroke 2? years ago and I almost lost her,? he said. ‘It’s very important to me that she’s still in my life.?
Happy Valentine’s Day.
