American Legion Post 108 in Oxford opened its doors Saturday to provide free eye and hearing exams for veterans and active-duty military personnel, their family members and other members of the public who were in need of such services. Fifty-three folks got their vision tested, while 27 had their hearing checked.

The Pan Equus Animal Sanctuary (PEAS), located at 940 Hummer Lake Rd. in Oxford Township, held its Third Annual Fall Festival and Silent Auction fund-raiser on Sunday. More than 600 people attended.
