Education foundation gives $20,000

The Lake Orion Education Foundation (LOEF) announced grant winners for this year. In all, the foundation gave away nearly $20,000 to applicants from area schools. The winners were acknowledged at the May 13 school board meeting.

District recognizes support staff

Julie Farmer, Diane Valentine, Joanie Curtis, Dawn Gorris, Diane Miszewski, Sheri Lindsay, Kelly Peelish, Leslie Ashley, Heather Hammerl and Pat Pollitt were honored for their work as distinguished support staff in the school district. Staff were given the Betty Campion award and a rowdy round of applause at the May 13 board meeting.
