Baseball team takes 2 losses, 1 win

On Saturday, April 29, the Wildcats played a doubleheader against Lakeland High and Walled Lake Northern.

Oxford lost game one on the day 4-2 to Lakeland.

Gage Warzecha, Braun Mayette, Evan Brunning, Justin Allen, and Josh Allen all had one hit. Evan Brunning battled for two innings on the mound only surrendering one earned run. Jack Kitchner went four innings only allowing one earned run. Errors were the difference in this game.

In game two, The Wildcats baseball team fell to Walled Lake Northern with an 8-5 score.

Zak Schwerin and Evan Brunning lead the offense with two hits and one RBI a piece. Jacob Watt battled for four innings, only allowing two earned runs and striking out two batters. The defense behind him made five errors. Connor Romine threw two scoreless innings to end the game.

On Thursday, April 27 the Wildcats beat Brandon with a 3-2 score.

The weather conditions were not great for hitters but the Wildcats were able to plate three runners with the third run being scored in the top of the seventh off the bat of Brandon Barrows. Mario Scribner started the seventh with a walk and Barrows came through with a clutch hit.

Barrows lead all hitters going 2 for 4 with one RBI.

Braun Mayette, Zak Schwerin, Evan Brunning, and Mario Scribner each had one hit. Jack Kitchner got the win on the mound.

The team is now 12-7 overall.

On Wednesday, May 3, the Cats go up against Rochester Adams at 4:30 p.m. on the home field.
