After beginning their season with four wins in their first five games, the Oxford Wildcats boys’ soccer team has now dropped four straight games.

Hitting the road, the team traveled to Bloomfield Hills High School to face the Black Hawks on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Setting the tone immediately, the Black Hawks scored in the first minute of the game. They would add another goal in the second half for a 2-0 win.

“Giving up a goal in the first minute kind of threw the team for a loop,” head coach John Thaler said. “Very flat game.”

Looking to generate some offensive firepower, the team returned home to face the Anchor Bay Tars on Friday, Sept. 13.

Facing the Macomb Area Conference opponent, the two teams had to deal with extreme elements as the game was delayed for two-and-a-half hours due to lightning in the area.

Once the action finally got going, some of the same problems persisted for the Wildcats, falling to Anchor Bay, 4-0.

Now 4-5 on the season, Oxford will look to get back to .500 when they face Seaholm on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Wildcat Stadium at 7:00PM. Currently tied with Bloomfield Hills for second-place in the OAA White, the Maples are just two-points back of the first-place Lake Orion Dragons.
