Oxford renews national accreditation

Downtown Oxford joins 12 Oakland County communities that met the performance standards required to receive national accreditation from Main Street America, Chicago. This annual accreditation process recognizes a community’s exceptional commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization. Each community is evaluated in 10 categories such as community support, historic preservation, vision statements, having a paid professional manager and ongoing training.

Committee appointments

At the Aug. 16 regular meeting, the Addison Township Board appointed new board member Jacob Newby to represent the township on the SEMCOG (The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments) and No-Haz committees. Treasurer Lori Fisher was appointed to CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas).
