Contentious communication facilitated by social media was a issue this past year at Clarkston School Board meetings. This past May, the board sought the opinion of the school attorney regarding posts to Twitter during meetings (“Legal opinion sought on tweets at meeting,” May 07, 2014). The candidates were asked their opinion on the matter. Steve […]
Concerns about micromanagement has come up several times this past year at Clarkston Board of Education meetings, including in “School board members focus on operations,” March 26, 2014; “School board split after 4.5-hour meeting,” April 30, 2014; “Meetings too long,” July 16, 2014; “Back-ups OK’d for schools,” August 20, 2014; and “Committee concerns,” Oct. 16, […]

Nobody is saying the Oxford Public Library hasn’t managed its money extremely well during tough financial times. Nobody is saying the Oxford Public Library should close its doors and people should look elsewhere for their books, […]
As far as millage requests go, the Nov. 4 ballot proposal for police services in Oxford Township is a no-brainer. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department has done ? and continues to do ? an outstanding job providing law enforcement services. The millage to support them deserves a YES vote. Not only will this five-year, 3.9152-mill […]
It’s been 14 years since Matt May parachuted onto Goodrich High School’s football field to deliver the game ball to his younger brother, starting Martian quarterback Lane May. According to news reports, with the crowd on their feet and the National Anthem blaring, Matt landed on the 50-yard line with the football tucked under his […]
